Hanney

The Hanneys are a group of villages, namely East Hanney and West Hanney, in west Oxfordshire, southern England, in the UK.

They are approximately 3 miles north of the town of Wantage, and lie in the flat marshy area of south-central Oxfordshire (previously Berkshire).

The villages were originally islands in the marsh, hence the -ey ending of their names. See also Goosey, Childrey and Charney nearby.
Populations according to the United Kingdom Census 2001 were 796 (East Hanney) and 496 (West Hanney).
