Hananiah (prophet), a false prophet who opposed Jeremiah
Hananiah (Book of Daniel), a young man taken captive from Israel to Babylon and companion of Daniel, usually referred to as Shadrach (the Babylonian name imposed on him by his captors)
In the New Testament there are several characters named Ananias, the Hellenized form of Hananiah
