Hana Meisel

Hana Meisel or Meizel (Hebrew:‎חנה מייזל) born in Byelorussia[1] in 1890, and immigrated to Palestine in 1909, during the Second Aliyah, where she became a noted agronomist, and was a founder of Haalamot (Hebrew: חוותהעלמות‎) agricultural school in 1911 (closed in 1917), and the agricultural school for girls at Nahalal.

She made considerable contributions to the feminist wing of the Zionist movement.

She was a member of Poale Zion, and studied agriculture and natural science in Odessa, Switzerland and France.

She married Eliezer Shohat, also a well known figure in the Zionist movement.

She died in 1972.
