Han Sanping (traditional Chinese: 韓三平; simplified Chinese: 韓新平; pinyin: han2 san1 p'ing2; Cantonese Yale: Hon Saam Ping) is a Chinese film producer. He is the chairman of China Film Group, which has been hailed as one of the largest distributors and exporters of Chinese films. Han has produced as well as co-produced films from the likes of Peter Chan, Chen Kaige, Stephen Chow and Johnnie To.

[edit] Career

Han has produced over 300 films, as well as more than 100 television series during the past 10 years. Apart from being head of China Film Group Han also serves as President of Beijing Film Studio and the Chinese Children Film Studio, as well as Vice Mangaging Director of the Chinese Film Producer Association.

As head of the China Film Group, he has aggressively pushed for the Group to expand even further, culminating in a recent announcement that it would seek a public listing.[1]

Han is a fervent nationalist, urging filmmakers to make more patriotic movies, and has responded to his critics by saying that nationalism is also common in Hollywood films.
