Assuming this article was written and not copy and pasted, this is a well written and very informative article. Where did they take their name from? There is a city in World of Warcraft called Hammerfall. abelson 10:20, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

And, according to the Swedish Wikipedia, the name is Hammerfall, without the camelcase. Can someone confirm and edit? --CompuChip 10:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Their name on the official website Hammerfall.net is spelt like "HammerFall". Actually, the city is named after the band (so is the character in the upper-left hand corner on the box for the game). This is correct. I wish I could find an online version of the interview with Hammerfall explaining this. But I guess if you do the research, you can see that the artist of the Hammerfall albums is on the Blizzard team, and that the city is named in honor of the band. The link to HF's Official fanclub, was being removed. I didn't realize it was being done by somebody here at Wiki so I kept re-adding it. I finally got a note saying it doesn't meet the guideline for links. I want to know why it all of a sudden doesn't meet the guidelines after at least a year of being there. If a link to their official fanclub shouldn't be there then neither should a link to their official website. You obviously haven't read WP:EL, I recommend you do. What possible useful purpose does a fanclub page serve a Wikipedia article? Not much. The fanclub page fails many criteria listed in WP:EL for inclusion into the article. The fanclub link was up for a long time because a lot of wiki editors don't follow Wiki policies and guidelines. But seriously I suggest any editors seeking to add an external link to read WP:EL to see if it can even be added in the first place. --Leon Sword 02:29, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't see where WP:EL prohibits the linking of fansites - in fact it seems to actively encourage the inclusion of sites like the one we are discussing: "Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews," under "What should be linked". --Pyreforge 07:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
You must have read only that part of WP:EL, because if you read the entire thing you'll notice that it says that links to sites which require paying membership shouldn't be linked. I don't know if you have even been to that site because you seem to think that it's a fansite and it isn't, it's a fanclub, which is even worse than a fansite. Also, I don't know why you would want to add another link to the article when it already has plenty of external links that provide interviews, reviews, and other stuff which can't be included in Wikipedia. --Leon Sword 00:30, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Can anyone find a reference for the connection? All I've been able to dig up is a question about it in an interview, to which Anders responded that since Joacim writes all the lyrics, if there is a connection it would be through him. I'm not a huge HammerFall fan, and I haven't listened to all of their albums, but the possible connections I can come up with are the album "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" - "Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" are the words of House Martell; the song "Take the Black" - if that's not a reference to the Night's Watch I don't know what it is. On the album Threshold there may be a reference in the song "Dark Wings, Dark Words", in the title at least. It's tenuous at best, and definitely not worth including in the article, but could "Howlin' with the 'Pac" be a reference to Bran? --Pyreforge 04:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Image:HammerFall Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use.
