I gave this article this title since this seems to be the most important victory he was involved in, but feel free to give it a better one. Mustafa Bevi 22:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Why was a Carthaginain fighting at Therma?

Is this the same person as in german artikle: de:Hamilkar (Erster Punischer Krieg)? --Waelder 17:58, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for my english! This article seems to be completely wrong.
One Hamilcar wad defeated at Ecnomus (and Tyndaris before)
The leader of Drepanum wad Ad Herbal and the battle is one of the last in First punic war. Drepanum happened in 249 BCE while Ecnomus was in 256 BCE (5 years before). (Polyb., I)
As the author himself says "He is sometimes confused with the better known Hamilcar Barca, father of Hannibal." In fact Barca fought in Sicily (infantry) at the time of Drepanum. :))
