Hampton Sides

Hampton Sides (born 1962) is an American historian and author.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Memphis University School.
His Ghost Soldiers won the 2002 PEN USA award[1] for nonfiction, and has published three other books on American history He has also served as an editor for Outside magazine. His magazine work has been twice nominated for National Magazine Awards for feature writing.
He lives in Santa Fe with his wife Anne, a journalist. They have three children, McCall, Gram and Griffin.
