[edit] General Information
Hampton Hill is a small town in the South Western suburbs of London, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Hampton Hill is a nineteenth century offshoot from neighbouring Hampton; and is the overspill of Hampton uphill away from the River Thames, and across the Longford River (an artificial watercourse built to supply Hampton Court) which forms the boundary between Hampton Hill and Hampton. Aside from the residential areas of the town, the High Street is filled with shops, pubs and cafes, as well as a traditional 75-year old bakery. The High Street also stages a yearly parade before Christmas, where the street is closed and a procession takes place.
The Hampton Hill Association launched their Hampton Hill Community website on November 30th 2007, which provides a "Virtual Stroll" of the High Street, lots of useful links & telephone numbers, a What's On Guide, Gallery, History and Young Residents pages as well as information about the mission of the HHA and it's committee members.
Hampton Hill is also home to the Hampton Hill Playhouse[1] , a small theatre and Hampton Hill Cricket Club [2].
