Hammond Square ( Hammond Square Mall) is an shopping mall in Hammond, Louisiana, and is located on SW Railroad Ave and is off I-12. At first the mall was an enclosed two leveled mall. J.C.Penney, Sears, and Dillard's was the mall first anchors. Later J.C. Penney later closed and left the mall and moved to Covington Louisiana. The mall was owned by Sizeler Properties. Sizeler sold the mall to Covington based company Stirling Properties. The mall is currently going under redevelopment and it plans to reopen with 2 new anchors. J.C. Penney is planning to reopen in October 2008 and Target plans to open in spring 2009. The mall will soon have 60 new stores and a new food court. Dillard's is also planning to expand from it's normal size from 70,000 square feet to 95,000 square feet.
