Hamish McIntosh (born 4 September 1984) is an Australian rules footballer for North Melbourne in the Australian Football League.
[edit] Football career
From Lavington, New South Wales on the Murray River, he played his U/18 footy with Murray Bushrangers.
Drafted in the 2002 AFL Draft at pick 9, McIntosh had ankle problems in 2003, and when he arrived at the club, coach Dean Laidley said "he couldn't bench 40kg." [1] In his second year he sprained his ankle and finally, after two seasons of waiting, Hamish got a game against Adelaide in Round 6, 2005. He was not selected for the rest of the year but was an emergency 8 times.
Hamish's big break came in an exhibition match at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. He was named man of the match in an easy win against the Sydney Swans. Hamish has recently signed a new contract to keep him at the club until the end of 2008.
In 2007 McIntosh has been a revelation, averaging over 15 possessions a game. He was picked in the 40 man All-Australian squad. However, he missed the final cut.
[edit] Miscellaneous
Hamish wore number 33 until 2005 and now he wears number 1. He said on Roos Radio that he lives with Blake Grima and Alex Savvario and hopes to be a surveyor.
