Renzie Hamilton and his father-in-law, Sterner Faussett, founded Hamilton Display Manufacturing Company in January 1947. Renzie had worked for Citizens Gas in their advertising department making models and believed a market existed for a display company. By 1954, Renzie had been joined by brothers Kenny and Bill. In 1960, the business became known as Hamilton Displays, Inc. In 1990, Dan Cantor and Joel Coleman purchased Hamilton Displays, and in 1991 purchased Hamilton's largest Indianapolis competitor, Dimensional Designs. Operations of the two companies were combined in the Company's current facility in 1991. Dan Cantor purchased Joel Coleman's interest in 1993, and the name of the Company was changed to Hamilton Exhibits in 1997. In 2003, a new logo appearance was launched to more effectively brand Hamilton and represent its three areas of focus: Exhibits, Visual Media and Interiors.
