Hamilton is a city in Pembina County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 73 at the 2000 census. Hamilton was founded in 1882.

Hamilton is located at 48°48′29″N, 97°27′7″W (48.808131, -97.451996)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 73 people, 34 households, and 21 families residing in the city. The population density was 224.4 people per square mile (85.4/km²). There were 40 housing units at an average density of 122.9/sq mi (46.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.

There were 34 households out of which 20.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.2% were non-families. 38.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 2.81.

In the city the population was spread out with 21.9% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 31.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years. For every 100 females there were 82.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $35,625, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $46,875 versus $28,125 for females. The per capita income for the city was $28,501. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.
