Hamburg-Altona is a railway station in Hamburg, Germany. It is situated west of the city's main station, Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, in Altona, and is the usual start and end point for southbound long-distance trains.

The main line station is a terminal station, and most InterCityExpress (ICE) services to southern Germany terminate and start there. It also is connected to the Hamburg S-Bahn by a subterranean station. The Station is also provided by AutoZug (Car Train).

Due to the fact Altona has been a independent city of the Duchy of Holstein, first railway lines were build toward Kiel (1844), to the city of Hamburg (1866) Hamburg – Altona – Verbindungsbahn and toward the villages on the right bank of the river Elbe (1867). The station was named Altona central station.

The station was build 1979. The regional and long distance trains calls Altona on at-grade tracks in a stub terminal. The 4 tracks for the city trains are underground with 2 island platforms and accessible by lifts. In front is a bus station for several bus lines.

Altona is the terminus for the ICE lines 25 and 28 to Munich, line 22 to Stuttgart and line 20 to Basel. The ICE trains are running for the German railway company Deutsche Bahn.

Among other regional trains the regional lines R60 from Husum and Itzehoe and R70 from Neumünster and Kiel are calling the station. The line R70 continue toward Hamburg central station.

The lines S1 and S11 call Altona coming from the quarters in the West and continue to Hamburg central station (Hauptbahnhof) and the northern quarters of the Wandsbek borough. The line S3 is comming from the North-western quarters and Pinneberg continue via Jungfernstieg station and central station toward Stade or Neugraben-Fischbek in the South. The line S31 starts here to travel via Holstenstraße station toward Neugraben-Fischbek.
