Hamad Al-Montashari (Arabic: حمد المُنتشري) (born June 22, 1982) is a Saudi Arabian football (soccer) player for Al-Ittihad. Al-Montashari, a defender, was declared the 2005 Asian Football Player of the Year, defeating Uzbekistan and FC Dynamo Kyiv striker Maksim Shatskikh. With Al-Ittihad, Al-Montashari has won the 2004 and 2005 AFC Champions Leagues. In 2006 he had a trial with Manchester side pub side Bar XS but 7 starts and no goals saw him move on to The Turnpike FC based in the Withington area where similar stats saw him spending more time on the fruit machines, of which he is a skilled player.
