About John Layfield and bin Laden

1.)I think that it would be a better way as to add John to the list of famous tall men as 6' 6". ok, he is retired but he is still well known and famous. And I mentioned that there are not many tall men listed as 6' 6". Can I add him to the list of famous tall men?

2.)is Osama bin Laden really 6' 5" tall? He never looked that tall to me when he appeared in the TV. Also other sources saay that he is about 6' 4" until 6' 5". I can't imagine that. 6' 4.5" would be alright, but 6' 5"?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk) 08:27, 27 September 2006.

Title Changes

The problem is that WWE(WCW and ECW did this as well) is that they use revisionist history to present it the way they want. Ric Flair is officially a 22 time world champion, not 16. PWI is the most trusted source in the wrestling industry, and the members of WP:PW have agreed to use them since they actually keep track of these things accurately. I apologize for calling you a troll, but Inoki should remain there since he did win and lose the title and WWE just chooses not to acknowledge it. TJ Spyke 19:57, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

There are 13 archives there. If you want to bring the issue up again though, please do. For now though, Inoki should remain there unless there is a consenus to remove him. TJ Spyke 20:05, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I was looking through the Mikhail Lebedev page and it seems to be vanity and non-notable to me. First of all, there is hardly any information about him on Google. André the Giant

Would you stop continuously changing Andres height to 6ft 10in. He was that height at 24 i do not dispute but the man lived to 45 and it was recorded at Mania III he was measured as being 7ft 5in. His official site even states it if you dont believe check it yourself. Bottom line... Andre had gigantism and did not stop growing like regular people he continued to grow till he died he, he may have been 6ft 10in at 24 but does not prove he was tht for his entire life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bignick666 (talkcontribs)

Yeah, plus this is listed at WP:LAME. Just leave it alone. King Bee 23:25, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Halbared frequently does this to articles. He did the same thing with Dave Batista. We ended up having to have an RFC. >=-( Halbared's source is not a liable one, and not only that, he often breaks the 3RR rule. -.- So this is nothing new. --Cookie 01:04, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Andre's height was last recorded at 6 ft 10 in, he eas never measured at 7 ft 5 in....reliable sources? The correcxt measurement for one:oD(Halbared 07:37, 4 September 2006 (UTC))
7 ft 4 in, reliable source DXRAW 07:46, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
It's not if you read the discussion pages. You have to enter into that first before you change it. Melzter is a more reliable source(Halbared 07:48, 4 September 2006 (UTC))

Where does it say i have to enter into that before i change it. Also why do you think that Melzter is more reliable than his offical page. DXRAW 07:54, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Because as you will read, the 'official' page of Anrde is not considered reliable, and because Meltzer has when Andre was last measured, as well as a picture os him standing next to 7 ft basketball start Wilt Chamberlain (whom he is shorter than), these are facts.(Halbared 07:56, 4 September 2006 (UTC))
And when was that photo taken? Why dont you like using offical sources DXRAW 07:59, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
If you read the discussion board, you'll know the answer to that question. Andre's 'official' page is aboot 'official' as the WWE, howveer, we do know when he was last measured he was 6 ft 10 in, and he was shorter than Wilt Chamberlain, why don't you like looking at the facts?(Halbared 08:01, 4 September 2006 (UTC))
I do like facts from offical sources not secondary. Also do you now agree that im not a sockpuppet? DXRAW 08:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
The official recording is not secondary, it's an official measurement, there is nothing primary on that 'official' talk page, no facts, however, the sight of a visibly shorter Andre than Wil is a great primary source, which provves conclusively Andre's stature was less than 7 feet. As for the other matter, I am abiding by the third party consensus not to alter Batistas page, or to comment on yours, I see both you and Cuke Monster have ignored this. Either way, both the primary sources quite clearly show what height Andre was, rather than an uncited source on the 'official' page.(Halbared 08:06, 4 September 2006 (UTC))

Can you answer my question please "do you now agree that im not a sockpuppet?" DXRAW 08:08, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Please abide by the judgement and stop cluttering up my talk page, I have agreed to do this, why can't you? My discussion in this matter is now ended.(Halbared 08:10, 4 September 2006 (UTC))

Listen mate, until you post a link here proving other wise to Andres height then I will change it to what is stated by his official height. When was the picture taken and last measure because as I've said on numerous occassions if he was measured at 24 to be 6ft 10 thn im not questioning that Im saying that the man had gigantism and didnt stop growing till he died, he wrestled Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania III (aged 41, died 45) where he was measured to be 7ft 5in. Therefore it is possible that he was that height with his contiuous growth. As I said, if you post a link here proving otherwise I will keep changing it to what is stated by his official site.bignick666

As I have previosuly stated, we have the only time he was measured, anda primary source, both put him at under 7 feet.(Halbared 08:13, 5 September 2006 (UTC))

imdb [1] has his height listed as 7'. Given that you're citing imdb as accurate for Triple H, would you be willing to use this height as a compromise? Sasaki 11:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I do believe that Andre may have achieved something close to 7 feet...but I am not the only one involved here, as the huge hisotry behind his height shows...perhaps you could put forward your proposal on the discussion page and see how others take to it?(Halbared 11:55, 7 September 2006 (UTC))
Yeah I appreciate the different people involved in this never ending saga of edits all seem to have differing viewpoints. It just seems that some consistency is needed somewhere, I'm sure you'll agree? I'll raise the issue on the WP:PW page, see if some consensus can be reached there Sasaki 11:59, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Cool. We'll se how it goes then.:o)I am not sure how close Andre got to 7 feet, I am still open minded on this(Halbared 12:03, 7 September 2006 (UTC))

List of famous tall men (starting with 6 ft 3 in (191 cm))

Do you think that it's a good idea to start the list of famous tall men with 6' 4"? I don't think so. I mean 6' 3" should be listed too. A few days ago I saw a very fat guy who was 6' 3" and he looked like a giant.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk • contribs) 14:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I think that 6' 3" is a little bit tall. With 6' 4" you are really tall. Sometimes 6' 3" tall guys are not tall to me and there are times where I'm thinking that 6' 3" is huge. It would be better to start the list of famous tall men with 6' 3".—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk • contribs) 16:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I just think 6 ft 4 in is an OK height.(Halbared 20:10, 5 September 2006 (UTC))

Well, I don't know how to add a photo to Kevin Durand's page and I don't know the ppl. Maybe you could help me a little bit, please.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk • contribs) 16:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I haven't uploaded any pics myself. Perhaps Hamiish or KingBee could help with that?(Halbared 20:10, 5 September 2006 (UTC))

Hi! I've listed John "Bradshaw" Layfield to the list of famous tall men as 6'5.5" and I've also listed David Prowse as 6'6.5" because I saw that David's real height is 6'6.5" and 6'7" as Darth Vader. I've entered www.google.com and then I wrote David Prowse height and there it was shown that David stands at 6'6.5" (199cm). John Layfield's height is 6'6" approx. and that was written in www.imdb.com Thanks—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk • contribs) 15:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I looked for Prowse, he is listed as 6 ft 7 in in varied sources, and on the two on his page as 6 ft 7 in. I don't think Layfiield is notable. He is a mid card wrestler who is now retired.Halbared 14:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

John Bradshaw

Yes, you are right, John "Bradshaw" Layfield is a dick and not a professional wrestler but 6 ft 6 in in the list of famous tall men includes less people than 6 ft 5 in. I am 6 ft 6 in and I sometimes meet guys who are as tall as me, not shorter and not taller, they are as tall as me.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lieutenant Dol Grenn (talk • contribs) 21:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I never said he was a dick, just not notable.Halbared 21:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
There is a flaw to your logic in that he is also a TV personality, radio personality, self-made millionaire economist in addition to being a professional wrestler and commentator. You're judging him by only one guideline and by any of the others he's notable. –– Lid(Talk) 14:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Once again you miss my point, his wrestling aspect is just ONE aspect of him. I don't see why you can resist this when in addition to being a nationally syndicated radio host, a televeion expert on conservative economics on CNBC and FOX News he is also a published author. You keep rebuting this on the grounds "he's just not that big" when it makes no sense as these aren't roads open to him, these are careers he is active in. Hell I nearly forgot he's also an economy columnist too. Your disagreement is based on flawed reasoning to the mindset of the wrestling world when in fact he has done more than most wrestlers ever have outside of wrestling. –– Lid(Talk) 15:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
He has accomplished more than Kevin Nash, Paul Wight, Nathan Jones and Glen Jacobs who are all more List of tall people who are famous rather than famous people who are tall. Independent of wrestling they have nothing while JBL has a whole lot more claims to fame than any of them. I don't even like JBL but this notability criteria is flawed and skewed in favour of the height of the people involved rather than the actual fame allocated. Huck Seed, Project Pat, Maggot (rapper)... the list goes on. –– Lid(Talk) 15:57, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

V for Vendetta

My main complaint is the fact you are comparing it along with the Nazi party. I don't think the BNP are quite Nazis :P Computerjoe's talk 17:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I would conccur...but I am not comapring the Nazis to the BNP (though know knows what they could grow to), but that the party in the book/film has it's origins in the British Nationalist Party, as well as the NAZIs. The book was written in the early 80's. We were coming out of the 70's which was a huge time for the BNP and the 'bovver boot' brigrade. The BNP were at a high point back then, they were an influence on the book, which is my point:op.(Halbared 17:34, 6 September 2006 (UTC))

List of famous tall men

Hello Halbared! I saw you deleted my additions of Peter I of Russia and Francis I of France. In fact, their height is very well documented. In the wikipedia entry for Peter, it is stated that he was gifted :

with an extremely striking build of 1.98 meters (6 feet 7 inches)

Regarding Francois, I don't have the source yet, but I'm pretty sure about the point.

What do you think? Regards Mrbluesky 14:22, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

List of famous tall men

Why the fucking hell did you delete my info that I added onto List of famous tall men? On the pages of people that on added, it says their height! So why did you delete it? You better have a good excuse! I am mad!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alm93 (talk) 01:07, 29 September 2006.

Excuse me for butting in, but there's no need to talk like that. If you look at the CLEAR disclaimers on List of famous tall men, you'll see that new entries must be notable and must be sourced, NOT from Wikipedia. You didn't abide by either of these, and as you were warned, your edits were removed. You need to read the rules, and then act like a less arrogant dick. HamishMacBeth 00:44, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Hamish. Alm, I did not wish to make you mad. But as my friend Hammish states and the discussion page and the 2nd deletion log shows, we have reached a compromise over adding new ppl, and are still in the porcess of adding sources for al the ppl on the list. External sources are needed. There is also an ongoing debate aboot what notability means on the page, and blanket adding sports stars will likely result in a third deletion proposal in the not too distant future. Hope this helps.Halbared 08:23, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Cheers; I posted once or twice on the wikiproject asking for help, but nobody answered so I decided to be bold and have a go myself. I broke something doing it, so somebody reverted, then somebody else fixed it and reverted back; that's why it went from one to the other then back again etc. I think it works a a solution, even if it's only temporary, until somebody thinks of something better.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by BertieBasset (talk) 16:45, 29 September 2006.

Cool. Keep billing as the standard and then real height/weigh ad hoc if alternative sources become available. It becomes an issue with retired wreslters or independent stars though.Halbared 16:46, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry I forgot to sign my name, I hate it when people don't do that! I had to leave the original height/weight the same and add second fields of 'real' height/weight because if you changed the template fields on the actual infobox, it'd mess up every single article using it. As it is now, I have to add 2 fields to any article to actually take advantage of the changes, but, as I said, if it saves arguments, it works as a solution in my eyes. Sources

What sources are you going using for the heights? I can not see them on the talk page. DXRAW 03:22, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

George Galloway

The title The Right Honourable goes only to members of the Privy Council of the United Kingdom, of which George Galloway is not a member. Privy Council membership is awarded automatically to members of the Cabinet, and as an honour to senior Ministers and other figures (generally if they need to know information on a confidential basis); it would be very exceptional if it was to be awarded to someone such as George Galloway, and I'm not altogether sure he would accept it.

Just in case, could I also say that George Galloway does not have the title 'the Honourable' either. This is normally for the sons and daughters of Peers. Although MPs refer to each other in Parliament as 'the Honourable member', this is a matter of courtesy and not a formal title. David | Talk 14:40, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Tyler Mane

What better source do you want than his official web page? --Dudo2 13:15, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
