Correction for the "1>2" section.
Joe: I hope I am responding to this correctly. Anyway I will be editing the section of this article that is dedicated to the naysayers of H2. What I have done is in quotation marks: Toned down pistol. In Halo CE the M6D pistol was an exceedingly skillful sidearm that required precise aim in order for it to kill in 3 shots to the head of the character models in Halo CE ( "but the pistol could still be defeated by the assault rifle, sniper rifle,...etc." ). In Halo 2, however, the pistol appears to be a support weapon of dubious functionality.
- Also, while I am a Halo 2 fan; I do not want the anti-h2 fans from halo2sucks.com to get offended. No one should be alienated.
- EDIT By Joe: I just decided that once I set up an account here, I will create an article for H2sucks.com. But like I said before; "No one should be alienated".
-
- NOTE: I edited out some unnecessary whitespace in the above. Hope that's okay- it helps the page. Anyway, not only should 'no one be offended' but the article as a whole should maintain the coveted level of NPOV (non-point of view) that users should expect as a community. The 1>2 debate is a hotbed of POV, and needs to be avoided. Suggestion: Trim the section. Mention a few points, and add in that healthy dose of "these complaints focus on competitive gamers" at the end (most people who favor 1>2 arguments engage in a more competitive gaming style, as seen from surges such as ones asking for Major League Gaming -approved playlists be added). I say leave the 1>2 section as more of a snippet, and let the complaints be merely from people who wish they could use the space to rant more. That's clear-cut NPOV.
-Are you saying anyone who wants to, can have their opinion on wikipedia? Because last I checked that is not how wikipedia works. Why don't we list all the things people do like about Halo 2 as long as were listing all the things people don't like. It only seems fair.-David
- Read up on NPOV. Wikipedia isn't about opinions at all, and the 1>2 part doesn't meet NPOV at all as it stands. Lines like "anyone that thinks this is not very observant" keep pushing the idea that this section needs to be deleted, now and forever. No matter how long this section exists, it never moves any closer to becoming NPOV. Until someone can set down, and create a section that is both BRIEF [section is unnecessarily long- give the general idea and move on] and NPOV, we should all move to get rid of this section. gspawn 05:30, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Right, which is why I think we should get rid of the halo2sucks.com site
To clarify why I deleted this: "However, the battle rifle is exacly the same as the original pistol. The weapon was made a single-wield only rifle for issues of balance, as dual wielded weapons of such power could present issues of balance." This is not true. The battle rifle shoots in 3 shot bursts unlike the halo1 pistol. It takes at least >=4 bursts to kill. The pistol was >=3. The pistol had a greater rate of fire. The pistol had a better range.JohnC1987 10:42, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Joe: But why would you say "Right, which is why I think we should get rid of the halo2sucks.com site"? Yes, I myself am a H2 fan ( but I do agree with a lot of what they say ), but they have every right to keep that website. Maybe I should create a page for h2s.com?
Update
I added some characters (Lord Fleet Admiral Sir Terrence Hood, Heretic Leader, Special Operations Commander "Half-Jaw", Fleet Admiral Harper, Corporal Perez, Sergeant Banks) that were missing on the Halo 2 character list. --John-1107 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- I added a list of weapons we've seen dual wielded since E3 2004. The SMG, Plasma Pistol and Needler dual wielding is pretty well known but the Plasma Rifle is one that gets people stumped. There is some shakey cam footage of a player using it along with a Submachine Gun During Halo 2's Fan Fest at E3 this year. The exact link escapes me but you can find your way there from the Bungie Halo 2 official forums (under the sticky topic about pictures and movies).
- Some other things I added include the concussion from Frag's, we saw it a little bit at E3 2003 when the Marine throws the Frag into the Alcove ("Frag and Clear!") but I also believe I read something from Bungie about the Frags getting more realistic.
- I also expanded on the Boost Function, it's confirmed that (but not yet understood how) the boost function works for the Banshee (since the L trigger in Halo was the Fuel Rod Cannon). I also expanded on Armour customisation.
- One Note:
- 'There is a new gun turret that can be equipped onto the Warthog that appears to function as a precision laser. The laser is very similar to the laser developed by Cortana in the third book.'
- My Comment:
I thought that it was a Magnetic Linear Accelerator Cannon ([1]) similar to (but obviously on a smaller scale) the MAC guns on the Human Ships? Although I'm stumped to find a source alot of places are calling it a Gauss Rifle. Maybe I've just seen it so much that I've accepted it. --Cadogan Trahem
-
- Old yes, but to wrap up, "Gauss" is loosely used for any weapon that uses magnetics to accelerate a projectile. The gun on the back of the Hog is a Gauss Rifle (or some more specific term). And yes, it's similar to the MAC guns from the novels.
Minor Correction
A minor correction to the statement about destructable vehicles, Joe Staton is clearly quoted during his E3 2004 demonstration of Halo 2's multiplayer that vehicle damage is not just cosmetic. I changed this and incorporated the rest of the information to form a coherent sentence. --Cadogan Trahem
The ARG
I made an entry on the drama occuring with the Bungie.net community. If anyone has issues with it, i'm willing to remove it or move it to a different entry. --Ghost Freeman 20:18, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Reduced it in size a teensy bit - I don't think there's any doubt at all that it's publicity like the AI game.
- If you're particularly interested in this, you could start a new page (ie at Haunted Apiary) which could be as big as you like. I don't think this page here at Halo 2 should have too much on this. Cheers, --Evercat 21:48, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)
-
- I was actually considering this. Later tonight I'll get started on it. Anyone else is welcome to help out.
-
- BTW, I appreciate the edit. It was overbloated, not using proper tense, and I'm a newb to this stuff so what do you expect. Thanks. --Ghost Freeman 22:15, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)

- Hi, what does ARG stand for and could somebody include the full term on the main page. Thanks --Diceman 20:47, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Halo 3
That should soon have its own page.
I made a stub on Halo 3, there's really nothing there yet. --LockeShocke 00:14, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
Weapon Info Added
I added the info for all of the human weapons and most of the covie ones. The info was taken direcly from the official strategy guide. Once I finish all of them, I will edit the text a little.
Redundancy in plot
The Storyline and Future Developments sections overlap in their retelling of the plot. Future Developments pretty much repeats the last few paragraphs of Storyline, about the end cinematic and where the game leaves off. This could simply be made into a three equals sign header subsection of Storyline and take out the overlap. --LockeShocke 04:45, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
Ambiguous paragraph
- At some point, (because she wants to stay without remote detonation) Cortana becomes separated from the Master Chief and is left within a computer on the Covenant Holy City of High Charity near Halo. She had made attempts to forestall the launch sequence of a docked Forerunner ship in order to destroy the City and the Ring, but she was thwarted by a mysterious AI construct of unknown origin.
What does the second sentence mean? It needs some clearing up. It confused me, and I've played the game. I don't understand how delaying the launch sequence would destroy the City and the Ring. Also, there are some gaps in the plot. It's like whoever's doing the explaining takes a break and talks about Gravemind for a while, and then jumps to this. --LockeShocke 01:59, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
This does need some work, but to be honest I've played through the game 2 times and I still have a hard time understanding the plot.--Tenric
Cortana: Rampant?
It appears at least that Cortana has motivations that aren't entirely clear and may in fact be above and beyond her programming.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Cortana's programming let her do anything she wants as long as it doesn't interfere with her mission objectives. As far as I know, talking with Gravemind isn't against her mission. --sfackler 03:46, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)
- This whole rampancy issue strikes me as pure speculation, two events in Halo 2 are supposed to support this, number one the event at the end of the first level's final cutscene where cortana says "Unfortunately for us, I like crazy!", when I first saw this it didn't look like an AI going rampant at all, but rather the classical "but there are 500 of them" -"bring 'em on!" line often used in action movies. Number two is the end cutscene with the gravemind, this to me looks a bit suspecious and looks to set the scene for something big in Halo 3, however I don't think those two events should be linked togather at all as the first one looks like normal un-rampant dialog (I'm unable to find mention of event one in either article now, perhaps it was removed.) –Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 15:19, 2005 Jan 17 (UTC)
-
- Cortana is not your normal AI. You'll fully understand if you read the books. Cortana loves to share information depending on what it is. In her current situation she's left with the Gravemind and its asking her question. So she would be more than willing to answer the questions. But again, we cannot jump to conclusions about it. She may answer all of the graveminds questions, or she may not. we do not know what happens...... yet. We will just have to wait and see. (--> originally posted by User:152.163.100.139. He seems to have inadvertantly deleted the previous comments under this heading, so I've fixed them. --NormanEinstein 22:12, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC))
- Rampancy is a vital part of the Bungie storyline associated with both this title and the marathon series, since this is the case that makes the speculation important and as Wikipedia's nature leads it to be changed constantly then speculation (which also changes constantly) has a place here. am i right ? or have i put my foot in its proverbial place? f1r3r41n 14:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Correction
This feature is included in the Arbiter's armor, though its effect only lasts a few seconds, and the Envy Skull enables the Master Chief to cloak as well in Campaign mode. The powerup is not available in Campaign (the Arbiter can activate it for a short time), and the built-in generator is not available in Multiplayer.
Must be a bullshit rumor, I've never heard of it and never seen it (and I've beaten the game on Heroic). --Kade 05:53, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Correcting the correction
T'is true. Do a google search for Halo 2 skulls and you'll find it. You can only get it on Legendary.
Or in other words, get the Envy Skull which is on the mission Delta Halo. You have to be on the Legendary difficulty for it to appear. If you can't be bothered to search Google: take the Scorpian Tank all the way through the ruins, blowing up pairs of ghosts etc as you go until you reach a structure with several energy shields atop a ledge infront of you. Kill e verything and everyone until the Pelican arrives, dropping of marines and weapons. Then head to the left of the middle building (looking at it from where you came from) and up onto the part where some grunts in turrets were. Keep heading forward until you see a big boulder. You'll notice it is blocking a doorway. Don't worry, it's only some dead grunts and two plasma swords in there, if you want them shift the boulder a bit with a grenade or two. Anyway, back to the skull. Jump on the boulder. Jump onto the ledge above you. Face left and crouch jump forward over a root or whatever onto the platform thing. On your right again you shall see a ledge higher than you can jump. So grenade jump up there :) You will see the skull, with two crazy camoflauged elites, headbanging to music only they can hear no doubt.
The skull gives you camo like the Arbiters, but it isn't as good. Doesn't last as long and takes longer to recharge.
Also, if you pass through a checkpoint with it on, then save and quit, turn off the xbox, turn it back on, load your file and keep playing the camo will be permanent. Won't turn off. And yes I tried it the other day, worked a charm. The easiest way to do it is just play Armory, then press turn on the camo just after Johnson says "Don't worry, I'll hold his hand". There's a checkpoint there. Or if you miss it, straight after the covenant start burning a hole through the blast doors in the beginning of Cairo Station. It will go into a sort of wide screen bit, and a checkpoint will take place after Johnson says something like "Feel the fire on that bulkhead".
Style Concern
I have some concern that the style of some part of this article is really not suitable for an encyclopedia, e.g.: "This is crazy. I have only beaten one level on this setting." (not in a 3rd person role and even involves the author's experience itself without being clear whether this is representative). --Ylai 09:55, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Seconded. I'm going to clean this up a little and make it more professional. --Khaim 19:08, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
General Guidelines
First, make sure information on this page is from the actual game, not from rumors and hype prior to the game's release.
Second, this page should be an impartial view of the game. Personal feelings about the worth of the game, the difficulty of the game, etc, should not be here. Save that for your blog.
Third, this page is rather large, and should be broken down into component pages. This is a pretty serious job, and I'm not sure if I'll have time to do it right in the near future. If someone wants to tackle this, go ahead. Just make sure you move information; don't delete large paragraphs unless they become redundant, in which case keep the best one. And link to new pages, of course. Note that we already have List of vehicles in the Halo universe and List of weapons in the Halo universe pages, although both could use some work. Finally, try to avoid rampant use of spoilers. It's okay, and necessary, for the story section, but you can do the entire rest of the article without spoiling anything. Do that. --Khaim 13:41, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Protection
A request has been made to protect this page. I'd personally prefer not to. Can someone tell me what's going on with this edit war? It looks to me like John is deleting some content, and adding some other content about Halo 3. Khaim seems to object. Could John tell me what's wrong with the content he's slashing, and Khaim tell me what's wrong with John's content? --Snowspinner 04:15, Feb 10, 2005 (UTC)
- It's a disagreement about how a part of the intro section should be, they both begin with:
- Halo 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Bungie Studios for the Xbox video game console. It is the sequel to the game Halo: Combat Evolved, and features a newly built graphics engine
- At this point they differ, Khaims version, along with my comments:
- , physics engine, new weapons and vehicles, new multiplayer maps, and a storyline that continues the story begun in Halo: Combat Evolved. While the Halo universe shares characteristics with the Marathon series, the two storylines are distinctly different.
- The physics engine part is nice and a natural continuance of what they both agree on, new weapons and vehicles is pretty given since all fps are bigger & better with each relese, furthermore the storyline part is plain redundant because it's stated that the game is a sequel, which is, to quote the article: a work of literature or film that is written after a completed work, and is set in the same "universe" but at a later time.. —Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 06:00, 2005 Feb 12 (UTC)

- and the addition of new elements to the game. Like the Marathon series, the game will further develop the struggle between the human race and the Covenant, a religiously zealous and technologically superior foe.
- This is just factually wrong, Marathon was not at all about a struggle with the Covenant but the Pfhor, the Covenant don't even exist in the Marathon universe. —Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 06:00, 2005 Feb 12 (UTC)

- What can be salvaged from this version however is [a] technologically superior foe. which is a strong theme throughout the game, the Master Chief is (almost) always the lone soldier fighting a technologically superior army. —Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 06:00, 2005 Feb 12 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's a shared universe. I've got some marathon-nerd friends I can ask. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 01:37, Feb 17, 2005 (UTC)
- There are lots of hints here and there, but I believe Bungie's official line is that they're separate universes. This page has a good collection of the various speculations on the relationship between the two. —A Marathon nerd 03:27, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
-
- Just a passerby, I did read johns page and man, what a wierdo. Halo and marathon are similar in some ways I guess but hadn't thought about having the 2 sharing a universe. Bungie would probably make a seperate universe for the 2 just to keep the banter from fans to a minimum. We would probably have more evidence if that kinda of event took place, otherwise it could be like a starwars type thing with the galaxy far far away. then it wouldn't really matter.
-
- john's the kind of person we need to watch out for later in life.
-
-
- From Bungie.net, Marathon FAQ, they're "two seperate universes". Sorry, everyone, but the final word is out. Like an author uses his previous works for inspiration, of course Bungie used a lot of Marathon (a LOT), but they're two seperate universes.

Note about gross sales upon release
I added a note that Halo 2 total gross on release day surpassed that of Spider-Man 2's for the highest gross upon release in entertainment history. I saw that as a very relevant fact, considering how broad the word entertainment is.
Skulls - Waaaay wrong
I think some parts about the skulls need to be fixed. Heck, there's so much speculation about them they could have their own wiki. First of all, Spitnik needs to be spelled Sputnik, and the IWHBYD skull has NO conifrmed effect, the skull does not take you to a coutyard with 20+ elites (I know, I've gotten that skull... after about an hour), nobody knows what it does yet. So that's technically still a rumor.
- Hi, just a passerby. The 'I Would Have Been Your Daddy' skull apparently does indeed take you to a courtyard with increasing waves of elites, and you start with only a plasma pistol and the skull in your hands. Only after you defeat every single one of them (remember, this is on Legendary), does the skull's name flash on the screen, putting its abilities into effect. From what I'm aware of, the skull's effects aren't known, though it's rumored to unlock extra diologue in the game (like what people say when you shoot them). --Anonymous
Whoa whoa, everything I've read after trawling through Google says the same thing (roughly) about the IWHBYD skull. Apparently it is the hardest to get because it doesn't always appear, and in order to make it appear a series of things need to be done. So far I don't think anybody knows exactly what, but its something along the lines of taking Johnsons sniper rifle, getting the checkpoint past the pelican, killing the elite and grunts outside Hotel Zanzibar and getting 7 checkpoints. Or something like it. Then you go to the 'sniper balcony' and get the skull. After you pick it up you are put on the ground with a plasma pistol. 6 waves of ever increasing elites come after you then. After defeating all 18 (or so I've heard) the screen flashes and the skull goes into effect: unlocking "interesting dialogue". I've watched a clip of somebody actually doing it, but being killed by the first elite. I've tried copying everything done, but still no luck. I've never gotten it.
See this page for more details. The IWHBYD skull is second from last: http://www.halo2source.com/halo-2-skulls.htm
If anybody knows a near surefire way of getting it, please let me know: nipshit@hotmail.com
wat u do is perm cloak. there is no way in a million years to get the skull with out perm cloak, elites with snipers just kill u straight up. sorry i cant be bothered to go through it, got an assignment due tomorrow
Xbox Live content
Most of the information on new maps has been removed. I reckon it's important to have it in the article here, rather than shoving all the information on updates and downloadable maps in the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack article. --Sockatume 16:50, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
Halo 2 on PC
Hey gamers, i'm considering if i should purchase Halo 1 on PC since Xbox version is awesome, while PC version got 8/10 at gamespot.com which ain't bad. Not only would i enjoy playing halo because it'll remind me of the good ol' days playing at my allies' parties 4-player style! I also wanna prepare my skill for shooting-games. Anywayz, isn't Halo 2 coming out on PC or not?
-
- Wikipedia isn't gamefaqs, go to the message board on gamefaqs to get that stuff. Anyway, the halo pc is much better than the xbox version (internet multiplayer) if you have a good graphics card. And i dont know when h2 is coming for PC, i wish....--Zxcvbnm 17:04, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

Release Date
The bit about halo2 shipping during holiday 2003 is wrong, The only ever offical release date was nov 9 everywhere except the uk where it was a releases on nov 11th
Dispute and Discussion
The writing in this section is alternately rambling, ungrammatical, and speculative. I'm going to attempt to clean it up and add a few citations.
Oh, and why isn't it titled 'Criticism,' like so many similar sections in other articles?
Anetode 09:59, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
1>2
-
- This whole thing is opinion. Even if it is reporting other people's opinion I still don't think it belongs here. Maybe it could be modified a bit? Plus, this halo2sucks.com website isn't very good. It looks to me like one persons' opinions, and is by no means an authoritative source.
Top idea: I think the Halo pages all need to move toward eliminating POV. The 1>2 section, for instance, is useful because it detals an idea discussed widely in media. But should it be so long and detailed? Maybe not. At its current length, it's almost its own stub... as part of a video game page, I think it would be much more functional in a more summarized form. I won't trim it myself without asking for opinions first. I think the whole section needs to be taken down to more of a summary, with a few points, and move on to the rest of the article. In five years, will anyone really care THAT much about 1>2? Insert an IMHO. [User gspawn is having account issues]
Thats not the issue, the problem I have is that this is packed with opion. So I've edited it in an attempted to make it less biased. Just some notes
-I put the question mark there so it wouldn't seem like we were presenting this as fact. Which by having 1>2 in bold heading made it seem that way.
-The halo2sucks.com thing is way out of the question. Its just a bunch of ranting.
-Saying things like "many people believe that" is usually the way of the author hiding his or her own opion, and is in bad form.
-Peoples opion of multiplayer being better in 1 than in 2 is just that, opinion. There is alot of poeple playing halo2 on xbox live right now and I think that is worth noting.
-What did that Call of Duty quoth have to do with this?
-I really just wish we could get rid of this whole section.
What does this mean?: "Even if it is reporting other people's opinion I still don't think it belongs here". If these are the reported opinions of other people then you should not be worried about this section being POV. It's just mentioning other people's gripes.Shady_Joe
Added some info about modded maps, and some questions
I added some info about the homebrew development of Halo 2 content, I still need to add more info about the use of this content on xbox live, besides that I noticed that the author and/or others members are not honest about the criticism of Halo 2, for example the very low auto-aim of other FPS titles on xbox live doesn't necessary generates more lag.
- According to Bungie's Weekly Update, you're right: "Autoaim actually varies between weapons, and even weapon combos and while lag and connectivity were all taken into account, the main concern was enjoyable control and balance between each weapon." I'm going to correct this statement. Anetode 00:01, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
My other complaint: The Havok engine is just a physics engine that's why isn't considered part of the main game engine of most of the games that use it, the term "game engine" is used to describe the code that handles the graphics, sound, networking and some other basic aspect of a video game
merge, delete, or leave alone game variants
I don't know anything about this subject, but I noticed Halo 2 multiplayer variants lists five separate articles. All of these articles are tiny, uncategorized, and seemingly trivial. If they're totally trivial, maybe they should be deleted. If they're moderately signficant, maybe a merged. If they're actually signficant (doubtful) they should be expanded properly, by somebody who knows/cares. I have no opinion on the issue, other than the current state of these "variant" articles looks awful. --rob 15:03, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- Just started List of multiplayer gametypes in Halo 2 in order to discourage the creation of cruft like this. --anetode¹ ² ³ 19:33, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Nine Inch Nails
Can we please stop adding this disambig? Nobody is ever going to search for Pretty Hate Machine in an encyclopedia by typing "Halo 2." Phil Sandifer 22:58, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know if it matters, but today I noticed that Halo 4 through Halo 19 are redirects to NIN releases. --Damian Yerrick (☎) 18:56, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Moved: Weapon Help
This is the edit some fool did, so i am moving it here
- In case you wiki's wanna add it
But this isn't Gamefaqs "If anybody is looking for a complete list of the weapons of Halo 2 and what they do, here is something that I found online, I did not write this! I found this a while back and did not give the author any thought, anyway...I hope this helps you people! IT HELPED ME OUT SOOO MUCH! Also note, some of the stuff in here I have slightly changed because they fitted what I felt about certain combo's etc...
"
- Ummm....List of weapons in Halo 2 already has a lot of this stuff....merge it if you want but it looks UE...--Zxcvbnm 04:00, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
So there is a section, well good thing i deleted it, who ever thinks or wants to work on List of Weapons in Halo 2 can add some of this.
- By the way what is "UE"!?
>x<ino 05:44, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
-
- UE means unencyclopedic, for instance, "I mean, look at its Melee!!! 2 HITS!?!?" does not belong in an encyclopedia.--Zxcvbnm 20:58, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
I know what it means, but i didn't know the UE means Unencyclopedia >x<ino 21:38, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- -Can we agree that the FAQ above needs to be removed from the discussion page? If it's hosted somewhere else, link to it, and delete it from here. It's just taking up space and getting in the way of conversation as it is. gspawn 05:32, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Well that's too bad:P . >x<ino 18:13, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Linkin Park?
Someone needs to point out in a little more detail (that is, if it even exists) how the song "Numb" is referenced in the game, because by my count, it isn't.
- Uhh... [2] where are they listed? Maybe they'll be on the OSTv2? Gspawn 17:42, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
UNSC Vessel Name
- the name of the UNSC vessel seen in Halo 2 and piloted by Miranda Keyes is In Amber Clad NOT Amber Clad this name is a reference to a previous Bungie title, though im not sure which one and the IN is important as the In Amber Clad is the last line of defense much like the Pillar of Autumn was.
Signature Song, Plot Details
The signature song of Halo 2 is "Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix", not "The Last SPARTAN". I'm pretty sure I could dig up a Bungie quote eventually. Gspawn 17:45, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- And some people had started adding Halo 3 banter to the end of the plot synopsis. Halo 2 paves the way for Halo 3. No further explanation necessary. If people wanna know more, they can check the Halo 3 page. Gspawn 18:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
just saying something
i want to thank whatever supreme being there is for the revert option, man these people changing crap like that really ticks me off
f1r3r41n 14:29, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Like what? If you have major gripes, list them here. As an official Wiki note, make sure you do think about what you want changed back and see if you can tell why it may have been deleted. For example, I recently-ish deleted some of the talk people kept adding about Halo 3, because (as noted above) you can just go to the Halo 3 page for that. Reverts can also (technically) be done by anyone, but SERIOUSLY think about what you're doing before you do, because there's no faster way to have your account privelages restricted than to make a large revert that nobody else supports (IE: talk about it here first, please). No idea how much of that you do or don't know, just being a friendly Wiki citizen. Gspawn 00:47, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

PC version confirmed
This news post on BBC News says that not only is there definately a PC port, it will only work on Vista. Big wtf's are in order if you ask me. Those money grabbing bastards... - Ferret 20:23, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Halo 2 is the flower of 2001 technology. The game should be able to run easily on a WinXP system. Confining Halo 2 to Vista is merely Microsoft being a real dick. That Bungie claims with a straight face that this isn' a marketing ploy has me wondering how stupid they think the customers are. If Halo 2 is made modified for DirectX10, any chances of playing on XP die. DirectX10 will not run on anything but Vista. Alyeska 18:08, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, because PC gamers have NEVER, EVER seen this before. Not with DOS 1.x to 2.x, or up to 6.x, or with Win 1.x, or Win 2.x, 3.x, 95, 98, 98SE, NT, 2000/ME, XP/Pro... OS exclusivity is just COMPLETELY new to PCs, and it's all M$'s fault. And it's not like Linux and Mac users have ever had to upgrade, either! This is the only recorded... yeah, you get the point. You fools seems to have forgoten Micro$oft's work, the greddy work they do.
- First of all they created the awesome Windows Vista that has LongHorn
Not many people will wanna buy it, because it's like wasting monet, some already have Window Server 2003, while some are sticking to their XP
- To back up that above statment,
- I have been telling people about Windows vista, how sik it is, but people just seems it's like another window, even showing them the cool screen shot from Wiki.
So in order to sell this software, they included Halo 2 for it, how big Halo 2 is, and it's Massive Online/ multiplayer. Remember, with PC, you can download extra patches for HAlo 2 and more modders.
