Skåneland, i.e. the see of Lund, was most certainly never a part of Götaland in any way comparable to the real parts of Götaland. In the article Skåneland it's stated usually considered as a part of Götaland. Johan Magnus


Is "Hallandia" the best name for this article? It looks like pseudo-Latin. I would have thought "Halland" to be the more naturally English way of referring to this region. -- Picapica 21:37, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

As this is a matter of common policy, perhaps you should discuss it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Swedish provinces (the question has already been taken up there, and shortly at Talk:Provinces of Sweden as well). For my part, I think the latinized names are an acceptable compromise, as it upholds consistency with the few provinces that obviously should be referred to by their latinized names, because they are most common by far in English (Scania and Laponia are the ones I immediately come to think of). -- Jao 10:06, Sep 11, 2004 (UTC)
