[edit] Summary

Photograph taken by me in 2004. Built for Thomas Johnson, soap and alkali manufacturer around 1856. When his business failed, it was purchased in 1871 by Charles Hazlehurst of Hazlehurst & Sons, also soap and alkali manufacturers. It was later sold to Francis Boston, tanner, and in 1932 bought by Runcorn Urban District Council. It is currently Runcorn's Town Hall. Newer office buildings can be seen to the right. It is now a Grade II listed building.
