Halvor Stenstadvold

Halvor Stenstadvold (born 6 August 1944) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party.
He served as mayor of Bærum from 1978 to 1979. He had previously served as deputy mayor from 1975 to 1978. From 1981 to 1984, during the first cabinet Willoch, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Administration.
Outside of politics, he was a political scientist by education. He has been editor-in-chief of Minerva, information director of the Federation of Norwegian Industries 1973-1979, bank director in Kreditkassen 1979-1981 and 1984-1987, CEO of Orkla ASA 1987-2006, chairman of the board of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation 1986-1990, TVNorge 1991-1993, the Research Council of Norway 1996 and Oslo Stock Exchange 2006-2007.
