Haluk Dinçer

Haluk Dinçer (born 1962) is the President of the Retail Group of Sabanci Holding, one of the two largest industrial and financial conglomerates of Turkey.

Dinçer was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1962. Having attended the prestigious St. Joseph High School (Istanbul), he received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 and an M.B.A., both from the University of Michigan. [1]

He began his career in the U.S. as a project engineer at General Motors Technical Center in 1985. He joined the Sabanci Group in 1995, serving as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of TemSA for six years. He was appointed Vice President of the Food and Retail Group in 2001, and Food Group President in 2002.
Dinçer has held the position of the President of the Retail Group since 1994. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the group’s retail companies CarrefourSA, DiaSA, and TeknoSA.[2]

Haluk Dinçer sits on the board of TÜSIAD – Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association, DEIK – Turkish-U.S. Business Council, American Turkish Council in Washington D.C. and American Turkish Society in New York. He is also the President of the External Relations Commission of TÜSIAD.[3]

Haluk Dinçer is married to Suzan Sabancı Dinçer, and they have two children.[4]
