Haltdalen

Haltdalen is a small village in the central part of Norway with approx 600 inhabitants (2004). It is situated along the railway line connecting Røros and Støren. Haltdalen is known for its old stave church (1100). The original can be seen at the Sverresborg Museum in Trondheim. A copy was built in 2003/2004 in the neighbourhood of the present church. A replica of the Haltdalen stave church was given as a gift to Iceland.
