Halsey Street is a station on the BMT Canarsie Line of the New York City Subway. Located on the border of Queens at the intersection of Halsey Street and Wyckoff Avenue, it is served at all times by the L train. The station has side platforms, with exits at Halsey Street and Covert Street. The exit at Covert Street closes at 11:30 p.m. most nights. The station has no mezzanine. Because the border between Brooklyn and Queens travels on Wyckoff Avenue for part of the length of this station before turning south, all of the Manhattan bound platform and about 50% of the Canarsie bound side are located in Queens.

[edit] Tilework

The platform ends are offset from each other, with plain white tiles in the tunnel sections. The offset is about sixty feet in length on either end of the station. Some IND-style blue replacement tile can be seen near the Covert Street (east end) exit. This has been largely replaced by historically-accurate replacement tile, installed in 2001. Original mosaic band predominates blues and greens, with yellowish accents. Halsey Street opened December 14, 1928, two side platforms
