[edit] Backstory

The show premiered in 2005, replacing the classic Fantasy in the Sky show followed by a Halloween themed ending, HalloWishes was created by Disney's Creative Entertainment division supervised by Steven Davidson and designer Eric Tucker, the men behind Disneyland's "Remember... Dreams Come True" pyrotechnic spectacular.

The premise of "HalloWishes" is that the residents of the Haunted Mansion, led by Master Gracey, the Mansion's "ghost host" and the other 999 "happy haunts" are preparing for a celebration of Halloween as Madame Leota's cry for spirits to arrive is heard, along with a recording of Thurl Ravenscroft's singing of the first verse of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" setting the stage around Cinderella Castle and Main Street USA, which also has a special light show synchronized with the fireworks and music thanks to VariLite technology along with projections of ghosts, Jack O'Lanterns, skeletons, The Big Bad Wolf, Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid, Jafar from Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent, along with vocal appearances from those villains from said Disney animated film library and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas all dropping (or "plopping") by (and "creeping over") for a trick-or-treat visit.

[edit] Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the show is based on music from Disney films and traditional Halloween songs, while the show's script features Halloween related puns such as "Our disembodied friends would like to perform some Scary-oke music; just a few tombs (tunes) we just dug up for the occasion".
