The Hallett Wind Farm, perhaps more properly called the Brown Hill Range wind farm or Hallett #1 wind farm, consists of 45 Suzlon S88 turbines each of a rated 2.1 megawatt (MW) for a total of around 95 MW. It is in the Mid-North of South Australia adjacent to an existing 180 MW gas fired peaking power plant.[1].

The wind farm construction was carried out by Suzlon Energy Australia Pty. Ltd. As of May 2008 most, if not all, of the turbines are operating and feeding electricity into the national grid.

AGL Energy, who is buying the power from the Brown Hill Range wind farm, also announced on 31 January 2006 that it will call for construction tenders for the proposed capacity expansion of the Hallett gas fired peaking plant from the existing 180 MW capacity to a total capacity of up to 430 MW.[1]

Suzlon is also, as of May 2008, in the early stages of constructing Hallett Hill wind farm (alternatively known as Hallett #2) for AGL Energy.

AGL has announced its intention of building the Mt. Bryan wind farm (alternatively Hallett #3) and has purchased the rights to develop Brown Hill Range North wind farm (alternatively Hallett #4).
