Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff) is a Richardson, Texas United States-based, employee-owned, multi-disciplined professional services firm. Halff provides full-service engineering, architecture, planning, interior design, landscape architecture, environmental, right of way and surveying services. Offices are located in 9 Texas cities: Austin, Dallas, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, McAllen, Richardson and San Antonio.

Founded by Dr. Albert Henry Halff in 1950 in a one-room office in Dallas, Halff has grown to a practice of more than 600 distinguished professionals offering services ranging from environmental assessments to multi-million dollar highway projects.
In keeping with the standards of their founder, they set high performance expectations and hold themselves accountable for the quality of their work and the results they achieve as individuals, as team members and as a company.

Albert Henry Halff, PE, PhD was born in Midland, Texas on August 20, 1915. Early in his career, Dr. Halff had a passion for finding sustainable solutions that fulfilled human needs while protecting the natural environment. Recognized as a visionary in Texas, Dr. Halff transformed a one-room office into a highly regarded engineering and design firm employing hundreds of people.
Dr. Halff earned his BSCE in 1937 from Southern Methodist University, MSCE in 1942 from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate of Engineering in 1950 from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Halff has a legacy of distinguished service to his profession. In 1981, he was named by TSPE as “Texas Engineer of the Year”. He is a Fellow and Honorary Member of Texas ASCE, and, in 1984, was awarded the “Award of Honor”, the highest award of the ASCE Texas Section. On February 27, 2004, Dr. Halff was awarded the School of Engineering “Hall of Leaders” Award from his beloved SMU. Dr. Halff holds thirteen patents on engineering advances, including innovations in desalinization, water treatment, industrial-waste treatment and ion exchange.
Today, Dr. Halff remains “Chairman Emeritus” of Halff Associates, and continues his pursuit of leading solutions to improve natural and human-built environments.
