Haleyville is a city in Marion and Winston Counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. Haleyville was originally named Davis Cross Roads, as it was established at the crossroads of Byler Road[1] and the Illinois Central Railroad. The name was later changed to Haleyville, after the Haley Brothers, who were among the first to open a business in the town. At the 2000 census the population was 4,182.
On February 16, 1968 the first 9-1-1 emergency telephone system in the nation went into service in Haleyville.
