Halber Mensch (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Halber Mensch" (aka "1/2 Mensch") is a 1986 film by Sogo Ishii with Einstürzende Neubauten. It was originally released on VHS, and re-released on DVD in 2005[1].

The one-hour film documents a visit of the German band Einstürzende Neubauten to Japan in 1985. It includes concert footage along with scenes of the band performing in an industrial building. Several songs from the album Halber Mensch are presented like music videos, some with accompanying dancers performing in a Butoh style.

According to some reviews, the DVD was probably mastered from a VHS tape, and the quality is not as high as usual for DVD format.[1]

Halber Mensch is also a title of an album by Einstürzende Neubauten (1985).
