Donna - An average girl, with a sweet personality. The girl that has a mutual attraction with Maximillion. Portrayed by Samantha
Jill - Donna's younger sister. Attracted to Lee. Kind of ditzy. Portrayed by Hannah.
Ashley - Diana's girlfriend. EXTREMELY shy. Portrayed by Heather
Diana - Ashley's girlfriend. Very energetic. Dominant in her relationship. Portrayed by Tess.
FADE IN:
EXT. LARGE GRASSY AREA - DAY
MAXIMLLLION is sitting on the grass, watching the clouds. His face is one of completely focused thought. He's casually smoking a cigarette, never taking his eyes of the sky. He is using his jacket as a pillow, and a large backpack is seen sitting next to him. The CAMERA zooms in on his face.
MAXIMILLION (VOICE OVER)
My name, is Maximillion. Some call me Max, some Maxxy, others just say 'Hey you.' I'm just 'bout your average guy. I like my friends, girls, sports, the occasional smoke in case you haven't noticed, but...that all changed on one extremely peculiar day. It happened..oh, about three years ago. I was only 15 at the time, and still in high school. No one knows why, and how is just as much as a mystery to us. For some random reason...people just started dying.
Flashes of people grabbing their chests in pain while yelling in pain and falling to the ground
MAXIMILLION (VOICE OVER)
No one found out if it was a virus, a disease, radiation, or ANYTHING. It just seemed to randomly happen around the world. We sent out messages on every way we could for two years. No one responded to our pleas for help, information, supplies, or anything. So, we did what was natural. We gave up. But now, all that is known to us, is that the human race has only 7 people left. Lee, my best friend.
LEE flashes over, moving around like a weirdo.
MAXIMILLION (VOICE OVER)
He's an oddball, but he's always been there. Some random dude Jake that Diana and Ashley found one day.
A small scene with ASHLEY and DIANA kissing with JAKE watching with practically BULGING eyes.
MAXIMILLION (VOICE OVER)
Yeah...it was a little odd at first, but we all gradually got used to it. Love is love, no matter who the parties involved are. Mainly, the only time which was awkward was the time that Lee kept sneaking around the two, attempting to watch the two girls in there...ahem. Alone time.
A flash of DONNA and JILL laughing, then focusing onto Donna's face. MAXIMILLION begins to smile
MAXIMILLION (VOICE OVER)
Ahh, yes. Donna. She's so beautiful. Ever since we were in middle school, I've known I liked her. Her smile, her laugh, her eyes, hair, ALL about her. It's just plain magnificent.
He flicks the cigarette away, with a sigh of disappointment. MAXIMILLION
INT. THE LIVING AREA OF THE SURVIVORS - DAY
The other 6 are sitting on chairs and couches. Ashley is sitting on Diana's lap, Lee is sitting in the middle of Jill and Donna. Everyone engages in a conversation, unable to be heard. But when Jill begins to speak, everyone looks at her with their complete attention.
JILL
And then that's when I figured out why it's called a clock radio!! Because it's a clock AND a radio!! Isn't it WEIRD!? I was like, WHOOAAA!!!
Everyone just looks at her with blank expressions. Without saying a word, Donna reaches over and smacks Jill in the back of the head. Jill yelps slightly and holds the back of her head.
JILL
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?
DONNA
Morons deserves to be punished, simply for being stupid. Next time, I throw something at you. Capische?
Jill nods sadly. Lee and starts laughing, then he is also smacked by Donna.
LEE
OW!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?
DONNA
Because.
Lee glares at her and lifts his eyebrow
LEE
Why? We've been through this. The last person who decided to lay a hand on me, landing into the I.C.U. of Langley Memorial.
Donna looks at him and smiles sweetly.
DONNA
No reason.
Lee, nervous, turns his face away and tries to hide it. Maximillion promptly walks in, waving to all.
MAXIMILLION
Hey all.
EVERYONE gives him a greeting. MAXIMILLION sits down next to Donna, and everyone begins talking softly, not drawing any specific attention. CAMERA focuses onto LEE, who is scribbling onto a small piece of paper with a grin on his face.
LEE
Hey, Jake?
CAMERA CUTS TO JAKE
JAKE
Yeah, man?
CAMERA CUTS TO LEE
LEE
I have this awesome drawing on this small piece of paper here. Do you want it?
CAMERA CUTS TO JAKE
JAKE
Uhh..sure. That's not like you, but I'll take it.
He leans forward, ready to take it. The CAMERA zooms out and goes to the side shot so that both Lee and Jake are visible. When Jake gets a little closer, Lee crushes the paper in his fist, throws back his head and flares his nostrils. Jake's eyes widen, and he stares at Lee. Lee smiles slightly, with his head still thrown back and nostrils flared. They maintain eye contact, as Lee turns his fist over slowly, opens his hand, and the crumbs fall to the floor. After that, the CAMERA zooms in on Lee's face, who is still maintaining the odd facial expression, but with no sign of cracking. Quickly, Lee jerks his head from side to side as the CAMERA pans out, catching his full body. Whispers are heard, but as the CAMERA darts from person to person, no one is speaking.
CAMERA FOCUSES ON Ashley
ASHLEY (VOICE OVER)
What an idiot. He thinks it's impressing someone.
CAMERA FOCUSES ON JILL
JILL (VOICE OVER)
Silly little boy. Wasting a good drawing. His art ALWAYS makes me happy!! Hehe!!
CAMERA focuses on Maximillion
MAXIMILLION
I seriously wish he'd chill with that crap. It gets annoying. I mean, he's cool and all..but come on!
CAMERA focuses on JAKE, who is just looking off into space.
JAKE (VOICE OVER)
- hums the Jeopardy theme*
CAMERA FOCUSES BACK ON LEE
LEE
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE SAYING THAT FOR!?
CAMERA pans out, looking from person to person, who just seems shocked at this sudden outburst. The CAMERA focuses back on Lee, who looks from side to side, absolutely confused. The CAMERA goes back to Jill, who chuckles weakly, then looks as though she has an idea. She holds up a coin.
JILL
Hey, Jakey-poo!!
CAMERA focuses on Jake, who sees the coin and he smiles happily, with giant eyes.
JILL
Want the shiny?
Jake nods quickly, almost barely able to contain his excitement, so he squirms in the chair. The CAMERA goes back to Jill, who is waving it around.
JILL
GO GET IT!
She throws it clear across the room, and the CAMERA goes to the chair Jake was in, but he is gone. The CAMERA then pans out, everyone looking from side to side. The opening of a package is heard, which draws everyone's attention to the front of the room (including the CAMERA). Jake is there, eating the snack. Focusing back on the group, the CAMERA catches the sheer shock on their face. MAXIMILLION rubs his eyes, and leans back in his seat. JAKE begins making his way to his seat
MAXIMILLION
Negaku wa kono hi ga owaru...
Everyone's, with the exception of LEE who just puts his hands on the sides of his head, gaze shifts from JAKE to MAXIMILLION, with a face that says 'WTF?'
JAKE Dude, speak English!
MAXIMILLION turns his head to him, looking confused
MAXIMILLION
¿De qué hablas? Hablo Inglés!
The facial expressions just become more and more confused.
MAXIMILLION Will you all stop looking at me like that? I'm not DOING ANYTHING!!
JAKE
Max, you weren't speaking English!! It was like...Japanese..and Spanish.
MAXIMILLION scoffs, and crosses his arms.
MAXIMILLION Sì, indipendentemente.
EVERYONE EXCEPT LEE YOU DID IT AGAIN!
They begin laughing, and begin talking about random things after a few moments of laughing. LEE leans forward onto his knees, hanging his head as the whispers intensify and then cuts out, CAMERA focusing on JILL, who pays a quick look to LEE and then turns back to the person she is talking to.
JILL (VOICE-OVER)
Aww...Lee looks so cute when he's confused. I wish I knew what it was about though, I'd like to help. He's just so CUTE!! I wanna hug him!!
CAMERA focuses on LEE's face, who smiles slightly with a scary look in his eyes.
FADE OUT
FADE IN EXT. COURTYARD - DAY
Maximillion is sitting along on the bench. Donna comes into few slowly, and sits next to him, laying her head on his shoulder.
DONNA
That was some freaky-deaky stuff going on, wasn't it?
Maximillion laughs and nods, slowly leaning his head onto Donna's.
DONNA
You somehow could speak any language...Jake's fast...and God knows what everyone else can do! It's FREAKING NUTS!
MAXIMILLION
Indeed it is. Can you do anything?
A grin is on Donna's face. She lifts her head and whispers into Maximillion's ear. After she stops, his eyes widen and he looks down at her.
MAXIMILLION
Is that really something that you should tell me?
Donna shrugs, then puts her head on his shoulder.
DONNA
Don't you tell things to people you care about?
MAXIMILLION
I guess you do, Donna.
DONNA
Good. I'm glad you see it my way, Maxxy. You know..it's silly to say now, but...
She looks away, as if hiding something important to the current situation. Maximillion turns his head slightly and looks at her, concern in his eyes. He grabs her chin gently, turns her head with the same touch, and puts the hand on her cheek.
MAXIMILLION
Donna, you can tell me anything. We've been in this situation for the past three years, I think I can handle a simple bit of odd conversation.
Donna laughs softly, looking away then back to MAXIMILLION, smiling.
DONNA:
Fine, I will tell you. See...back in school, you know that I never really dated much. Everyone seemed interested, but I wanted nothing to do with them. I never wanted anything to do with anybody..except one person.
Maximillion turns his head slightly, facing the opposite direction and sighs with disappointment.
MAXIMILLION
Mind if I ask who?
Donna sits up, still smiling sweetly. She grabs his head gently, and turns it.
DONNA
You, Mr.Maximillion.
Maximillion's eyes go FREAKING HUGE. He starts breathing fast, and his eyes move from side to side, and he tries to find words. Finally getting satisfied on something, he raises up his hand and opens his mouth, but is quickly stopped by Donna, who presses her lips against his. Maximillion tenses up, but then he relaxes, and gently wraps his arms around her. The CAMERA fades out slowly while the two continue kissing.
INT. BEDROOM - TIME UNKNOWN
LEE is sitting on the bed, holding his legs and rocking back and forth. The whispers he heard earlier are still ringing in his head, and he's visibly terrified.
LEE No..please...no..stop...don't...leave me alone...please, God..make it STOP!!
LEE grabs onto his head and begins whimpering, as if he is suffering a splitting headache.
JILL Hello? Is anyone there? Helloooooooo?
LEE lifts up his head, the whispers subsided and he is grinning wickedly. He quickly goes to the side of the door, where JILL enters. She walks in and looks around.
JILL Weird...I could've sworn someone was in here... LEE comes up behind her, and wraps one arm around her neck, and slips the other under her right arm, locking her. She thrashes around, before going limp. He picks up her limp body and places her on the bed. Shortly after that, a conversation between JAKE, DIANA, and ASHLEY. Another grin crosses over LEE's face.
LEE
Oh, this is just too easy. I think it'll be fun....
LEE goes back to his spot at the door, and waits for the trio to walk in. While waiting, he notices a hammer and picks it up. Once they walk in, they walk faster towards JILL, as LEE raises the hammer. FADE TO BLACK
FADE IN: INT. BEDROOM - TIME UNKNOWN
Jill is lying on a bed, seemingly asleep. After a little, she starts stirring, and the CAMERA goes from above her, to the chair next to her. Lee is sitting there with his legs crossed, watching her patiently. The sound of rain plattering and thunder cracking is heard in the room.
LEE
Enjoy your nap?
Jill jumps slightly, and tries to sit up, but her wrists and ankles are bound by duct tape; as the CAMERA's movement reveals. She starts panting, fear filling her eyes. LEE gets up, and sits on the bed next to her. Jill screams loudly, which only ends in Lee slapping her.
LEE
You don't open your damn mouth, UNTIL I SAY YOU DO BITCH!
She whimpers, but nods slowly. He smiles wickedly, and taps her cheek.
LEE
Now, you may talk.
JILL
WHAT DO YOU WANT!?
Lee responds with chilling chuckle and sets his hand on her stomach. Jill knows what it is, and starts to squirm again.
JILL
GOD, SOMEBODY HELP ME!
LEE
Oh come on, Jill. Don't act like you don't want it. I know you do. I read your mind, I KNOW for a fact that you want it as much as life itself.
Jill shakes her head from side to side, obviously distraught.
JILL
No..not like this. Please...don't..if you do, they'll hear me scream..they'll come running.
Lee laughs loudly and pulls her head up, so she can see where he points. Ashley, Jake and Diana are all lying side by side, blood on their faces. Jill screams loudly and Lee grins sadistically, bends down and starts kissing her neck.
LEE
All I can say...is relax, and it probably won't hurt...much.
The CAMERA goes to outside the room, watching the closed door, to where Jill's ear-piercing screams are heard.
CUT TO BLACK
EXT. BEDROOM - TIME UNKNOWN
With the CAMERA at her back and not following her in, Donna walks towards and enters the room, turns closes the door and turns on the light. Silence at first, then the sound of a horror filled scream rushes through the entire place as the camera zooms out and goes black.
CUT TO EXT. LAKE AREA - DAY
Maximillion and Donna are sitting at the lake with Max holding onto the crying Donna. The CAMERA comes up to their backs, then makes its way around to the front.
DONNA
My God, Max...he killed them...all of them...WHY!?
Donna grabs him and continues to cry into his shirt, while Maximillion just figures it's best to remain quiet at the moment. He simply strokes her hair, and makes a gentle shushing sound.
DONNA
Jill was only 14...only 14 years old before he..you know...And the others!!! they didn't do anything! They didn't deserve death!!
MAXIMILLION
I know, Donna...I know.
DONNA
Ashley and Diana...at least...he gave them the small consolation of letting them be together before it ends.
MAXIMILLION
Yeah...
They both sit there and after a while, Donna wipes the tears from her face.
DONNA
Max?
MAXIMILLION
Yeah, Donna?
DONNA
Do you believe in Heaven?
MAXIMILLION
What?
He seems to be put off by the question. Donna sits up a little, and nods.
DONNA
Yeah, do you believe in Heaven and God and all of that?
Maximillion stays silent, and he turns his head...looking towards the sky.
DONNA
Max?
MAXIMILLION
I believe..that after you die, you go someplace. I don't know if it's Heaven, Hell, Purgatory or anything. But, the hope that after I go from this world, I get sent to a better place is the only thing really keeping me going. I've never been one for the religion like others, I've just never seen the point. But...these past three years seem to have been a gift to us all. Apparently, we still serve a purpose.
The CAMERA focuses on Donna's face, who is looking at Maximillion sweetly.
DONNA
Not what I was hoping for...
The CAMERA brings focus to both of them. Donna gently kisses Maximillion on the cheek, and continues smiling.
DONNA
But it'll do. Hey, do you remember the time when-
She is cut off by her blood-curdling screams. She grabs her head and falls to her knees in pain. Maximillion quickly jumps to his feet, and kneels next to DONNA.
MAXIMILLION DONNA!! ARE YOU OKAY!?
Her screams are her only response, until she falls to the ground, unconscious.
and the CAMERA zooms out to get his full body. Maximillion's eyes grow full of hate and anger, as he points directly in front of him.
MAXIMILLION
YOU BASTARD!!!
The CAMERA quickly moves to that point to show Lee just standing there on the end of the dock, with his sadistic grin on his face. He crosses his arms, and tilts his head ever-so-slightly to the right.
LEE
Hmph. No need for words...it's too loud. You know I can read your mind...just think, and it'll all be better for you and I.
Lee and Maximillion walk towards each other, and stopping once around 15 feet from each other. Maximillion puts his hands together, cracking his knuckles and neck. Lee laughs, and crosses his arms again.
LEE
You want to fight me? As I said, I can read your mind. I know each of your moves before you even think them through.
LEE extends his arm, and motions for Maximillion to come to him. A fight ensues, and after it is over, LEE runs to the edge of the dock, frightened, and wipes blood from his lip. The CAMERA goes back to MAXIMILLION who walks to the end of the dock, blood dripping from his left fist. He starts walking to the entrance to the dock, not making a sound, and never taking his eyes off of Lee. A short scene of Maximillion ducking down and taking a knife from his shoe, and throwing it plays. The CAMERA goes back to Lee's face, who is smiling.
LEE
Please, Maxxy my boy, do you really think that you're knife will do anything to me?
It focuses back on Maximillion, who for some reason is grinning himself.
MAXIMILLION
Lets find out.
The CAMERA goes back to Lee, who rolls his eyes. It cuts back to Maximillion. He goes through the motions of bending down, taking something from his boot, and throwing it. It cuts back to Lee again. His eyes widen, and he throws his arms down, turning his head to avoid what was thrown. He looks to the pillar, which has no knife sticking out of it.
LEE You tricked me!!
CAMERA focuses on Maximillion, who starts running at Lee, yelling a war cry and tackles him to the ground, hitting him in the face repeatedly. CAMERA pulls back from the boys, and goes up to the trees.
FADE TO BLACK
FADE IN INT. BEDROOM
CAMERA slowly goes into the room, looking at the bed, where a blanket is covering JILL. It then goes to DIANA, ASHLEY, and JAKE. JAKE begins to stir and sits up, and rubs his neck.
JAKE
Dance, puppets. DANCE!
CUT TO BLACK WITH JAKE LAUGHING EVILLY
On the black screen, quote goes over it.
