The Hakuba Salamander or Japanese Mountain Salamander (Hynobius hidamontanus) is a species of salamander in the Hynobiidae family. It is endemic to Japan. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, swamps, freshwater springs, and plantations . It is threatened by habitat loss.
