Hakan Demirel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

İsmail Hakan Demirel (born 7 May 1986 in Erzurum, Turkey) is a professional basketball player of Fenerbahçe. The guard is 1.92 m tall (6 feet 3 inches) and 85 kg weight and wears 15 number for Fenerbahçe Ülker.

Demirel is a true leader who, despite his young age, makes his presence on the court felt immediately. His long arms and anticipation makes him a great and suffocating defender even while playing zone, where his instincts take over. Those instincts also come in handy on offense where he does a great job creating shots for his teammates. Much like Kerem Tunçeri, Demirel lost his confidence in his shot last season and defenses have tended to sag away and force him to shoot from the outside.
