Hajjam

Hajjam , alternately pronounced and spelled as "Hajaam" , are a Backward Caste of India. Their traditional occupation has been that of a barber and hairdresser. The word "Hajaam" is derived from the Urdu word "Hajaamat" ( to shave ). Most Hajjams are Muslims , and the Hindu equivalent of the "Hajjam" caste is Nai.
