Haji Dirie Hirsi

Haji Dirie Hirsi (Somali: Xaaji Diiriye Xirsi) (1905 - 1975), was a Somali trader and business man who contributed to the founding of the Somali Youth League in 1942-1945. He was the major Somali political leader in 1948 when the United Nation's fact finding commission prepared important decisions on the future of Somalia.Haji Dirie was an Awrtable, Darood Subclan He remained influential in Somali political life until He died in 1976.
