Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll is a 1987 documentary film directed by Taylor Hackford that chronicles two 1986 special performances from rock and roll musician Chuck Berry for his 60th birthday. A soundtrack album was released in October 1987 on the MCA label.
Hackford filmed Chuck Berry for two concerts in the same day at Saint Louis' Fox Theatre on October 16, 1986.
Chuck Berry speaks in the documentary of his career as a musician and his life.
Phil Everly, Don Everly, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bruce Springsteen, Roy Orbison, Willie Dixon, John Lennon (archive footage) appears in the film to talk about him. And also Keith Richards, Johnnie Johnson, Eric Clapton and some people from Chuck Berry's family.
