Hagerman High School has a gymnasium with a seating capacity of 600, over four times its enrollment, for its teams, the Bobcats.[6]

[edit] Awards

US News & World Report awarded its Bronze Medal to Hagerman High School in 2006, for "successfully meet(ing) ... two key performance indicator criteria."[7] [8] [9]

Jesus Trujillo, an agricultural teacher, FFA advisor, and basketball coach at the high school, won a US$25,000 award from the Milken Family Foundation, which was, according to the Albuquerque Journal, for his "exceptional educational talent and ... student achievement".[10] [11] [12] [13]

Another coach, Harvey Wilson, of the varisy track team, won a "Character Counts!" award as "coach of the year" for New Mexico.[14]

Unfortunately, just days after the Hagerman boys track and field team won the 2007-08 Class 1A state championship, Wilson passed away at age 66.

Hagerman High School is considered a "great school" by a national poll.[15]

[edit] Partnership with Eastern New Mexico University

The high school has a "partnership" with Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). Hagerman High students attend workshops at ENMU,[16] and have access to special scholarships from ENMU.[17]
