The Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (Chinese: 香港飛機工程有限公司), better known as HAECO (香港飛機工程), (SEHK: 0044,NASDAQ: HKAEY,OTCBB: HKAEY) is a major provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in Asia-Pacific. It has provided comprehensive aeronautical engineering services to airlines and operators since 1950. It is now located in the western part of the Hong Kong International Airport.
The company has a 20-year franchise with the Airport Authority Hong Kong at the Hong Kong International Airport.
HAECO is also a holding company in many aircraft engineering and related companies in various countries, including mainland China (Shandong, Xiamen) and Singapore. HAECO has, over the years, expanded beyond the boundaries of Hong Kong SAR into Mainland China with Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (TAECO) at Xiamen, Fujian and Shandong TAECO Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (STAECO) at Shandong besides establishing joint ventures with key major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in pursuit of providing "Total Care" services to its customers.
The Swire Group, together with Cathay Pacific Airways, hold major interests in HAECO and provides management support.
HAECO also owns 45% of the shares of the Hong Kong company Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL), a joint venture with Rolls-Royce plc and SIA Engineering of Singapore, providing overhaul service of Rolls-Royce RB211 and Rolls-Royce Trent 500, 700 & 800 series jet engines.
