[edit] Page Deletion
Not sure about Wikipedia etiquette, so apologies for this poor addition to the edit page. I am suprised to see that the page for HADOUKEN! (the British Indie/New Rave/Grindie music artists) no longer exists. The band is receiving radio play outside of the UK now, and it seems inappropriate that they do not have a page. What are the reasons for this?

This is a tricky one. Grime is the main one, obviously (or possibly grindie?), but I wouldn't call them punk rock. And they are definitely associated with the new rave scene, whether they like it or not. 82.69.23.7 18:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Despite what you may read on some websites, THIS IS NOT OUR ALBUM, obviously. We are still working on our album and it will be out early next year. We wanted to do something slightly different to your average single release and to get more material out there, so we made this mixtape.
The USB will feature the music as one big mix and the tracks seperately.
More info on artwork and the video for 'Leap Of Faith' etc on the way.

how do you pronounce the name? i have heard the pronunciations; "ha-dork-en" and also ha-doo-ken": (like the street fighter move) which pronunciation is correct? (in relative to the bands pronunciation) Paladin91 21:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
In the Plan-B remix James Smith pronounces it Ha - Dork - En
"It's time for plan b, hadouken" is the line iirc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DavethXCore (talk • contribs) 21:14, 8 November 2007 (UTC) Well, whilst this is true, in a video on Youtube promoting their USB mixtape, "Not Here To Please You", and offering tickets for answering a simple question, James Smith pronounces it "Ha-doo-ken" clearly, so it shows that it can be pronounced either way. Everyone I know uses this pronounciation because we don't see where the "r" sound comes from. Curlyiain (talk) 22:14, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- In Japanese, "ou" represents an extended "o" sound (take the vowel sound in "box" and hold it for longer, or for easier pronunciation you could rhyme it with "boat" instead - HaDOHken). It's not an "oo" sound at all, and isn't pronounced that way in the game, but it is a very common mispronunciation amongst SF fans. Of course, if the band do it too, I guess "Ha-doo-ken" is how the name of the band is pronounced. Philip Reuben (talk) 12:24, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Just a small thing- it says the band are Southern English then says in the information box that they are from Leeds? Which is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Forgery82 (talk • contribs) 11:26, 21 December 2007 (UTC) Well, the story is that they all met whlist studying at Leeds University, apart from Pilau's brother Nick, who, evidently joined the band via his brother, at a time when they lacked a drummer. Nick, and his brother Pilau (or Daniel, whichever name you prefer) actually came from South London, or South of London. "They also incorporate techno into their sound and samples from Nintendo Game Boy sounds"
In their latest song called 'Declaration Of War', there is not only a lot of techno-style noises, but there is also a baseline that sounds very similar to the Victory theme from the Dynasty Warriors games. Considering the band's name, this could very well be the case.
