[edit] Clean-up suggestions
IMHO, the biggest problem with the page as it stands is that the "views" section appears to be almost entirely original research. A secondary problem is that the article's difficult to understand. It seems like you're on track to add scholars; my advice would be to explain clearly the sources of stuff like "views." The structure I would recommend would be something like:
- One statement viewed as relevant to the question of who should host the Tonight Show is Jonny Carson's famous statement to Ed McMahon, accidentally made on air during the Tonight Show June 1, 1992.
-
-
F- Joan Rivers. I'll die before I let her take over the show.
-
- Some Carson scholars have argued that this represented a general attitude against female hosts (cite), or against Jewish hosts (cite). However, other scholars have argued that Carson's well-known fondness for Phylis Diller and Gary Shandling(cite) indicates that his statement was directly solely at Rivers specifically.(cite)
(I've avoided the subject matter to try to avoid giving offense. Also, I made all that up, hopefully I didn't offend any Carson fans either.) The advantage of this format is that it clearly identifies who argues for one interpretation or the other, and doesn't put the WP editors in a position of pushing their own interpretation.
I think another good example is The Bible and homosexuality - it discusses a controversial textual subject fairly clearly, and without pushing OR.

- Great, thanks for the advice. If the article remains, please visit back in a few weeks to see how it has evolved. Peace. And by the way: It is not original research, i have read most of it, i just need to add the sources, and that takes time: to re-find them. --Striver 17:49, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
