• Only private person come or does security companies come too?

• Do they involve events?
• Do they involve lectures?

These probably depend largely on the convention, but I agree that this article is inadequate. It was written as a disambiguation page, but should be written as a proper article including a list (the list might even be separated out into a separate article, List of hacker conventions).
