Hackensack Waterfront

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hackensack Waterfront is an area on the eastern bank of the Hackensack River in Jersey City, New Jersey. It is a largely industrial area that is home to the Hudson Mall. The Hackensack Waterfront is bound by Kellogg Street, NJ-440, the Hackensack River and Lincoln Park. Kellogg Point at the end of Kellogg Street and Kearny Point across from it, mark the mouth of the Hackensack River. The Hackensack Waterfront has moderate redevelopment plans, including the construction of a waterfront walkway. The Hackensack RiverWalk, is a proposed trail connecting Bayonne and North Bergen. The Hackensack Waterfront neighborhood is Jersey City's central gap on the trail. The southern gap begins at the Newark Bay waterfont at the Jersey City border and ends at Society Hill. This missing segment will likely utilize 440's right of way on its southbound lanes. The northern gap of the RiverWalk in Jersey City extends from Lincoln Park to the Secaucus border at Penhorn Creek.
