Hachiya Yoritaka (1534-1589) was a retainer beneath the clan of Oda throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. At first having been a vassal to the Toki clan of Mino province, Yoritaka nonetheless initially supported Saito Dosan's Coup d'état, but willingly chose to leave the usurper thereafter in turn for Oda Nobunaga, where he would become subordinate to Senior Retainer Niwa Nagahide. By the time at which Nobunaga had been killed within the year of 1582, Yoritaka passed on his services to the former's erstwhile subordinate, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, forthwith supporting him even though without a succeeding heir to his family name. As ill-circumstances would have it, Yoritaka would fall away in death by the year of 1589; and out of direct consequence to having not originally adopted a heir, the Hachiya joined him in extinction.
