[edit] History

The long section of history proved to be a copyvio from the book by Cockburn et al., so I have removed it. It would be useful to précis this material to replace the fairly short account that remains in the article. seglea 23:23, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] National schools report

I reverted this edit ("A national report places them as one of the worst in Hertfordshire [1]") on the grounds that it's incorrect: If you read the report, there is no metric by which it is 'one of the worst in Hertfordshire. I assume the editor who included this was confused by the fact that Habs was placed at the bottom of the table, but it was there due to not having data for two of the metrics; on the metrics there was data for, Habs was among the best, not the worst. -- simxp (talk) 23:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Also, in lieu of any justification from User:86.134.165.229, I have removed the blockquote from the report -- cutting and pasting the 'weaknesses' part of the report into the article whilst not even mentioning the strengths is POV at best. -- simxp (talk) 22:49, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

In addition, a statement "Doubts have also been cast over the legitimacy of the report" does rather need a citation; especially as the sole justification for this seems to be that, "the ICS website states some misinformation about the school, that it teaches Greek and Media Studies (it does not)" -- to the best of my knowledge this is incorrect regarding Greek; Although it is not an timetabled subject, Mr. Whiteman nevertheless teaches it after school to people who are going on to study Classics. -- simxp (talk) 22:53, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

In the absence of any justification or sources for the above sentence by the inserting user in the past week, I'm removing it; it seems to me to be a classic example of original research by 86.134.165.229. -- simxp (talk) 06:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bias

Can users watch this page for obvious signs of bias? The page should be written objectively, and quoted sources should be used when relevant, rather than blind compliments. Another type of bias is by repeating material, such as references to the school's expansion plan or its charity work. At times it borders upon advertising, local issues and non-notability. The question should always be asked whether a public school in Hertfordshire can justify long paragraphs about its charitable achievements or a list of its internal societies. DannyK
