It is not the largest hotel in Cuba. (I hear that the NH Krystal Cayo Coco is second largest at 680 rooms). Perhaps in Havana ?
I heard the original owner was the union of restaurant workers - not restaurant chefs.

[edit] Page name
It cannot be right to call the page "Havana Libre Hotel" as it now is. It's name - as shown in the picture - is Habana Libre. If you argue that this is English wikipedia, then call it the Free Havana hotel ! Also, if you argue the hotel is not part of the name, then it should have a small h - but perhaps should not be in the page name. -- Beardo 21:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
