[edit] Biography

The sisters had an inclination towards singing from an early age. When they were 11 and 13 years old, they won a music-talent show at their school. At 14 and 15 they received invitations to participate in festivals such as the Railroad Festival and the Louisiana Music Cavalcade.[citation needed]

After the festival experience, the sisters recorded a demo. Sony Music was impressed by the talent of the girls, and so they formed the group Ha-Ash, a mixture of pop, rock and country.[citation needed]

They recorded their self-titled first album with the Mexican producer Aureo Baqueiro in 2002. [1] In April 2003, they released their first single, "Odio Amarte", which was a hit on Mexican radio stations, TV channels and festivals[citation needed]. The second single was "Estes en donde Estes" which was released on July 2003. In February 2004, a third single was released: the ballad "Te Quedaste", the last single from their album debut was "Soy Mujer" which was used in the third version of Big Brother VIP Mexico. Ha-Ash received their first gold disc for selling 75,000 copies, and then the platinum album, with 140,000 copies sold.[citation needed]

After the success of their first album, a special edition of the album was released. This album has the videos of their first three singles: Odio Amarte, Estes En Donde Estes and Te Quedaste; behind the scenes of the videos, karaoke and an interview with Hanna & Ashley about the promotion of their album. After this they performed in the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City.

This was followed by their second album Mundos Opuestos again with Aureo Baqueiro. "Amor A Medias" was the first single and reached number four on the Mexican chart in April 2006. The song was chosen to promote Sony's products. "Me Entrego A Mi" was the second single and had the same success. Both singles has videos and both reached #1 on some tv channels.[citation needed] "Tu Mirada En Mí" was released in the USA and the video has a high rotation on MTV Tr3s, in Mexico the third single is "¿Qué Hago Yo?" which was written by Colombian artist Soraya. This single reached #1 in Mexican Chart and beat Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. Not only have they been successful on the radio, but also on TV.

Their musical influences are Shakira, Wyclef Jean, The Wreckers, and Michelle Branch.[citation needed]

Their third single "¿Qué Hago Yo?" reached #1 on Mexico Top 100.[citation needed]
