[edit] Biography
Harold Ray Williams was born born in Marianna, Arkansas. The oldest son of Ray and Effie Williams, he grew up near Crowley's Ridge. This line of hills, running north and south along the eastern part of the state, figures in both his novels and in much of his short fiction, and essays.
H. R. Williams resides in Trumann, Arkansas, another town adjacent to Crowley’s Ridge. He continues to write and is active in various national conferences and seminars. He occasionally conducts creative writing classes for students and selected adults. Husband to Nora Lee (long-suffering, ever patient) and the father of four children, he is also the proud grandfather to Scott, Sara, Ethan, Anja, Laura, and Emma Grace.
