I edited the sentence with "tomboy" and one with "tender" ("tender age of thirteen") because these descriptions are subjective. Your additions seem very helpful. Perhaps noting why these activities (hunting/fishing/horseback riding/eating with men) are unusual for women in this culture would help explain why she is such a notable figure in samurai history, as certain clans trained girls how to defend their homes but subserviance to men was an imperative. [edit] More Expansion

The article is factually but contains very little on the woman herself. It's like reading a timeline of her life. Really we need discussion of what "she did" as it were. She was nicknamed the "Nun Shogun", yet there's no discussion of her political involvment, etc.
