Hôtel Costes, Sept is a downtempo/lounge album compiled and mixed by Stéphane Pompougnac, resident DJ of the Parisian cafe/restaurant Hôtel Costes. Volume seven carries on Pompougnac's tradition of mixing R'n'B and electronic music with various styles, for example in the remix of Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sounds of Silence".
Morten Varano, who appears here as part of Slow Train Soul, later joins Pompougnac as a co-writer and singer on his 2007 album Hello Mademoiselle.
