Attended Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane finishing in 1997. At high school Gyton participated in all school activities including Rowing, Rugby and Swimming.
Controversy arose in early 2007 over Grantley's fundraising efforts to pay for a personal trip into space. His website claimed to donate a cut to the Starlight Foundation charity, of which the charity itself had no knowledge[1].
