Deletion of Misinformation about Injera
As a native of the place where Injera originated, I felt that you have inadvertently misinformed the public at large. A case in point is the comparison between Injera,Canjeelo, and Laxoox. Without providing a citation you claimed that the three are the same.In fact, it seems that you sought help on the matter as I can see from the corrected and re-wrote version by other "expert" on the matter. Finally, I want to know why is true to say fry Injera not make Injera. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhaile (talk • contribs) 12:48, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

- For the logical one, a source of informations is as important as the informations itself. so, it is important that I mention my source of information as being my own testimony than claiming without evidence. It seems to me that you have anointed yourself to be the page "administer" without needed knowledge. William Lynch speech - verifiability is not possible
I am not trying to be inflammatory, but there are so many things that are not verifiable in the original article regarding the William Lynch speech and those should either be deleted from the article or a different point of view should be posted there. Please verify for me the statement that the terms "'light-' or 'dark-skinned'originates long after the alleged date of this speech. There is no way to prove that since black people were not keeping written records at the time. Any attempts to "prove" what did or did not exist by way of written historial documentation is a futile effort and therefore, many arguments put forth by people disputing black oral traditions should allow those oral traditions to be stated alongside what is "believed" or thought to be true by non-whites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.252.134.148 (talk) 14:29, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Ogaden national liberation front
I want to know why you are deleting my edit of the Ogaden National liberation front page. I believe I have written a far more detailed explanation of the organization. The only source you are putting up is pro TPLF source if not TPLF source entirely.
It's important that you not paint the ONLF as a terrorist organization which is what you seem to be doing. Allegations made by the TPLF aren't the truth. Secondly OHRC is completely independent of the ONLF. You have no evidence to suggest the contrary but you deliberately make the accusation that it's a ONLF mouthpiece. You links are titled "onlf throws grenade into crowd" "onlf massacres 65" these are all loaded comments.
I see that you are also involved with other Ethiopian related articles and you have a pro TPLF stance. Like i said you have to be impartial and only write about the truth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mkfarah (talk • contribs) 00:26, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Lydia Hearst Page
Just wanted to let you know that all the information that was placed on this site about Lydia Hearst-Shaw is entirely accurate. I am new to wikipedia. But I can tell you that there is no misinformation placed on the site. There are images of Lydia as the face of the fashion campaigns all over the internet and magazines, as well as newspaper sources documenting her contribution. Her Infobox, should be a model info box, not actor as she is a model. See Lily Cole, Lydia's Info box is entirely accurate. Her agencies, they all have websites, if you doubt her representation at any, feel free to view their websites. In multiple interviews she has stated the start of her career being with Steven Meisel and her success with working with the other world famous photographers. There are also over 200 publications and web-sites that discuss the success of the Puma Lydia Bag, and how there is a new one coming out as soon as this Christmas. All the information is entirely accurate and can be found all over the internet and news publications and magazines. I just thought you should know, because it is stupid for you to delete facts and me to put them up. I guarantee that it is all accurate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.86.52.100 (talk) 15:14, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

if I didn't know better, I would think you have a strange and unnatural obsession or dislike with Lydia Hearst. Why do you care what is in her wikipedia page anyhow?
proof of everything was written, which you deleted... all her measurements and images can be found on these web pages... because these are the agencies the represent her www.1modelmanagement.com www.independenttalent.com www.fordmodelseupe.com www.beatrice.it
take a look..... http://www.askmen.com/women/models_300/360c_lydia_hearst.html http://www.frillr.com/?q=node/2699 http://www.celebritymound.com/?cat=445
also, if you are a member of FACEBOOK, Lydia Hearst has an account that displays almost all of her modeling images from covers to campaigns, editorials and biography http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=26902515 http://nymag.com/fashion/models/lhearst/lydiahearst/ http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/f52/lydia-hearst-4886-20.html
her work with Puma, is all over the press and various news publications. So, if you haven't heard anything about it, you should stay off her page because you clearly know nothing. http://styleit.wordpress.com/2007/05/31/more-lydia-hearst-for-puma/ http://cornedbeefhash.wordpress.com/2007/06/08/puma-and-lydia-hearst-team-up-again/ http://www.fashionweekdaily.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=432301

I am writing this note regarding your recent reply to the comment I sent you about OLF and Oromia's official langauge. You said your last edit about OLF was revoming links that didnt work. From the way I understand you didnt only remove links but also added baseless accusation on OLF. basical what I am saying is you added things like bagalla massacre and some other non sense things. I advise you to stop these activities for the sake of your own reputation on wikipedia.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Calala (talk • contribs) 23:16, 2 October 2007
- I did not write the information about the Bagalla massacre, though I have probably restored the text at one point or another. Note that the text in question cites its sources, but has been subject to removal on several occasions. Other than that, you'll have to be more specific regarding my involvement with that article, which has had more to do with upkeep than actually adding content (you can check the article's history). If you have problems with that article in general, then it would be better to bring these up at Talk:Oromo Liberation Front, rather than on my talk page. Misinformation About the ONLF
It's becoming very clear that you are spreading TPLF propoganda all over Wikipedia. You have recently edited the ONLF article, yet again, to fit more with the TPLF agenda of trying to discredit the ONLF. You present one side information. All your sources come from Ethiopian government websites (TPLF websites). You claim that the ONLF killed "4 school children" and you use an article by Pham as you source. Peter Pham is a washington lobbiest that is under contract by the TPLF. This is a well known fact. Non of the information he ever presents is credible. This is a well known fact. Secondly you seem to present TPLF "allegation" as being facts. You write that the ONLF 'killed' the ONLF 'threw a grenade' the ONLF is a 'terrorist organization' all without any facts. These are all allegations. Infact it has been verified that the TPLF threw that grenade into the crowd to blame it on the ONLF. You don't mention the somali genocide in Ogaden being committed by the TPLF regime. You refer to the TPLF figure head as 'Prime Minister' Meles Zenawi. It is a dictatorship and an occupation. It would be appreciated if you keep your misleading and dangerous propoganda from this article.Mkfarah 00:46, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

I am writing to inform an admin about an overly aggressive user who consistently disobeys civility rules. VegitaU cannot make an kind of correction or apply a tag without harassing other users, and constantly threatens with having someone blocked. Burroughs' Jajouka letter
I wanted to let you know that this Jajouka/Joujouka dust-up has been ongoing for quite some time. This Lisinbee fellow is one of the long-term combatants in an extra-Wikipedia fight over who is the legitimate heir to the musical traditions of ancient Morocco. There are a number of partisans in the issue here in the US, as well as Ireland, Great Britain, and Morocco itself. It has involved the estates of Paul Bowles as well as Burroughs. I take no side on the matter, and my only concern is the accuracy of articles related to the subject. But, long-term edit warring has been the scenario. Attempts at reconciliation have failed. I felt you should be aware of this. Cheers! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 16:37, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Las Anod
- Battle of Las Anod - for Somaliland's victory, see aljazeera's reference: Troops from the breakaway Somali republic of Somaliland have seized a village inside a rival region loyal to the interim Somali president, killing at least 10 people. The reference is already in the article, among others confirming that. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 22:28, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Your reverts to Las Anod article seem OK, no need for the POV tag.
- Cheers,--TheFEARgod (Ч) 22:28, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. I guess the PoV dispute has more to do with calling it "Somaliland" at all (vs. "Somalia"). -- Gyrofrog 23:48, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
What is disputed is the notion of Somaliland, which is not a country nor it is recognized as such by any world organzations. So for anyone to call a city in Somalia, Somaliland is repugnant. It is a clan disagreement (much like the civil war) and which clan has what land. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a city in Somalia, and will stay a city in Somalia till the end of times. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.76.243.240 (talk • contribs) 15:27, 17 October 2007
- I don't expect to resolve Somaliland's sovereignty issue on my talk page (if anywhere), but still, isn't it accurate to say that armed forces, who claim to represent a place called Somaliland, won a battle over Las Anod on Oct. 15? -- Gyrofrog 15:45, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I hope no one minds but I am going to copy this discussion to Talk:Las Anod. -- Gyrofrog 15:47, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

this is not the first time ive run into a total lack of humor on wikiprojects. my guess is the strong objectivist currents that run through the administration. im starting a discordian counterculture wiki and i would be interested in anything you can offer from thornley or other people who ran in his circles. --PopeFauveXXIII 01:21, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Question
Hi, you asked me a question on my talk page about an edit on Meles Zenawi] article. The quote was cited to support that sub-section called "Teaching history" so it is necessary. About moving the whole sub-section to history section, that would be fine with me. But you should put it both in history section (another article) as well as on Meles Zenawi's article. An important point ...one of the main reasons why Meles Zenawi's liberation movement began and why thousands died in wars for decades is because of what they call "question of nationalities" which includes his TPLF ideology that says history (just like politics) was one-sided and controlled by one ethnic group. Thus his TPLF claims a multi-national, multi-ethnic governance and approach to history is important. (By the way, this has also led to big disputes between Meles Zenawi and Teachers Associations/Unions that worked in previous government) So that sub-section is actually one of the most important identification of Meles Zenawi's movement/front/party. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.249.27.125 (talk) 21:01, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

- Just a response to your response on my talk page. To quote you-- "It would be helpful to instead cite the source that the blogger used (there's a link at the end, but it's apparently blocked on the computer I'm currently using). Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 21:26, 24 October 2007 (UTC)" Yes i didn't notice it was a blog too. Thank for pointing that out. The linked Africapath.com website doesn't have "journalists," only bloggers or writers. Anyway, i doubt the exact quotation of Meles Zenawi's 1997 statements translated from Amharic language would be found all of over the internet. The only place to find that is most likely an old newspaper from Ethiopia. Anyhow, i think we discussed the importance of that quote to his article & to his party's fundamental philosophy. So are you doing to restore that quote back into the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.249.27.125 (talk)

- In that case, given the lack of reliable sources I'm still not sure about including the quote. I still think the section in question should be moved. You might be better off making your case at Talk:Meles Zenawi#Far too long. -- Gyrofrog 03:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Question
I just recently came across this:
Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --
Something you leave behind on a user's page after they make an edit that was reverted. Does it not seem to almost belittle and 'talk down' to the user as if he/she were a child? Wikipedia is a community, and making people feel ignorant does not do anything except insult and divide it. I'm not calling you out on your actions, since I'm almost certain that there are many others who use the template. I am however questioning the template itself. It almost says "Oop, you tried to make an edit. Yay it worked! Okay now lets put it back the way it was before you touched it, because you made a mess. What does mommy say about messes?"
A simple edit reversion notification (or stern warning in the case of vansalism) is more than enough. A user would most-likely be 'watching' the page he/she made an edit on if they cared enough to want to be informed when a future change was made in the first place.
If you made an edit to a page and received the template in a response to the reversion of an article I'm sure you would be somewhat insulted.
Just something to think about
-Rob (an occasional Wiki user) 98.193.121.227 09:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- It would help if you would specify the IP's talk page in question. Perhaps the person's actions were better suited for the sandbox instead of an actual article. I don't always leave a {{Uw-test1}}-type message and I'd like to believe that I had a good reason for doing so; I'll have to insist that you show me where I left such a message without good reason. I'd like to direct you to the fine print at the bottom of an IP address' talk page: "If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users." -- Gyrofrog 13:34, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. Since, as you say, you have a problem with the template itself, you may wish to discuss this at Template talk:uw-test1. -- Gyrofrog 17:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, I was unable to locate the page in question. If what you claim is true, then I must surely be the one who is mistaken. Also, after having viewed the talk page for the templates themselves, I have come to understand that the template is the lowest level of warning in the 'test' category. After reading the discussion page of the template, I noticed that a few others have also discussed such matters involving "accusations of not following the rules" etc. It is indeed the lowest level warning that can be administered. Without a way to review the edit reversion you made, I have no way to check the page in question to see if you were correct or not (using the template). I therefore assume the issue is a mistake and a wrongful accusation on my behalf, and I believe an apology is due.
I also registered as a Wiki user. Perhaps the next time I decide to strike up a conversation, I'll be able to check back to see what exactly I was talking about, haha
Robert M Johnson 02:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well in that case, welcome aboard! And no worries: if you didn't like the template, you didn't like the template. But I hope that you enjoy it here! -- Gyrofrog 03:01, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't get your issue
You marked two of my images in regards to Northwestern High School (Hyattsville, Maryland) as "speedy deletion" images, citing my pics don't "provide a source". I have had issues with you in the past so I checked valid pics that other users have posted on here with identical content and I copied what they said, in case the wording on my pics were incorrect. Surprise, surprise, less than 24 hours later, you are already trying to delete my pics. My pics have the exact same content as the pics for Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Why aren't those pics up for deletion? You either need to be consistent or back off.
