The Gyrolabe is a fictional mechanical device from the novels "Operation Red Jericho" and "Operation Typhoon Shore". There are four total machines, the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Gyrolabes. When all four are brought together, they supposedly start an ancient machine at the fictional site of Ur-Can. The ancient devices were given their names from a character in the book because they resemble a cross between a gyroscope and an astrolabe, hence "Gyrolabe". Its named gyrolab becuse
