"Gypsy Eyes" is a song by Jimi Hendrix, performed by The Jimi Hendrix Experience on their 1968 album Electric Ladyland, and based on the field holler.[citation needed]
This song is about Hendrix's mother, Lucille. The line "Two strange men fightin' to the death over me today" is a reference to two men fighting over her as she says quite clearly in the song: "Oh little boy, you know I could love you, But first I must make my get away two strange men fightin' to the death over me today, I'll try to meet you by the old highway."[1]
The song features guitar themes that float between left and right channels.
